Witness: Martin Attacked Zimmerman (2)

If a person has beaten you to the ground and is still beating you that you can't stop - and that person shouts "now you are going to die?"

Yes, I think a reasonable person would take that statement as a threat if imminent or ongoing serious bodily harm and may use deadly force. Nor would it take that much either.
True, but what does it have to do with this case?

Sanford Police Department Response to Orlando Sentinel Report
Sanford, FL- - March 26, 2012 - - In response to the recent article in the Orlando Sentinel, the
information was not provided to the media through an authorized source at the Sanford Police
Department, but possibly by a leak from within the department. The information in the article
is consistent with the information provided to the State Attorney’s office by the police
department.

Here's the article which the police have corroborated as being at least not inconsistent with Z story. That's stronger imho that w/e Z's dad says Z's story is.

Trayvon Martin: George Zimmerman's account to police of the Trayvon Martin shooting. - Orlando Sentinel

"
He said he was on his way to the grocery store when he spotted Trayvon walking through his gated community.

Zimmerman told them he lost sight of Trayvon and was walking back to his SUV when Trayvon approached him from the left rear, and they exchanged words.
In his version of events, Zimmerman had turned around and was walking back to his SUV when Trayvon approached him from behind, the two exchanged words and then Trayvon punched him in the nose, sending him to the ground, and began beating him

Trayvon asked Zimmerman if he had a problem. Zimmerman said no and reached for his cell phone, he told police. Trayvon then said, "Well, you do now" or something similar and punched Zimmerman in the nose, according to the account he gave police.

Zimmerman fell to the ground and Trayvon got on top of him and began slamming his head into the sidewalk, he told police.

Zimmerman began yelling for help.

Zimmerman told police he shot the teenager in self-defense.

Where's the bit about M reaching for the gun?

Didn't we read that somewhere?

Simon, an extra thanks for posting all of the articles/information. You help all of us with your Googles. ;)

The fact that so many people are so interested and invested in the death of one boy is utterly dumb. What about the 1000's of innocent middle eastern women and children that are killed yearly by our intrusive and abusive foreign policy? The US government and soldiers responsible show little to no remorse and suffer no consequences; the dead's families never get justice. Is the story of Travon Martin more important than the killing of the 16 Afghany civilians that occurred around the same time? It is rather sickening that people protest, argue, and even resort to threats of violence for Travon martin, but don't even give the brutal mass killing of Afghany women and children lip service.

What about all the other black boys that were shot last week, who care about them? I don't see the same uproar about their deaths. One reason could be this gives Sharpton and Jackson the most air time and anti-race relations leverage. Anything that fosters a further split is good for them.

True.
I'm not sure what you're point is.

The point is that the case never closes. The advent of DNA evidence, for example, lead to arrests and convictions literally decades after the murder.

UNLESS there is a trial and Zimmerman found "not guilty" (and the I suppose not guilty and the 2nd Federal civil rights trial), any time from now until Zimmerman's death he could be indicted and prosecuted. Thus, the investigation of a death is never technically over as a potential murder case.

Hey old people, was the media ("news") always like it is now?

Maybe I should word that differently? "Do you any of you as our wise and knowledge elders detect any change in the evolution of television news coverage?"

Oh that's what you're sayin
The SPD announced that their investigation was going to end on March 12th

As of Monday March 12th, 2012, the investigation into the shooting death of Trayvon
Martin continues by Sanford Police Department. Investigators are finalizing details in
preparation to turn the case over to the State Attorney’s Office. The Sanford Police
Department feels the investigation will be completed today.

From this I am going to guess that there can more than one investigation of an incident.

To be fair new evidence has come to light since the investigation was ended.

If the SA had access to all of what has come out, he may have decided differently.
