I'm sorry. I taken qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis, etc., as a chem major. Switched to engineering electronic and mechanical and spent years making measurements of many types and worked with many that did other types. So, I guess CSI has caught up to me.

Apparently you don't know what the CSI effect is. Because you said nothing that contradicts the CSI effect. Basically, it's when people believe that the police should run every imaginable test possible in order to prove guilt/innocence - because that's what they saw on CSI.

Besides, they will be able to determine what you want known from the autopsy. So the test wasn't even necessary to prove what you want it to prove. However, I get it. You heard the family's lawyer talk about it, so you feel it's something that should have been done.

For example, I would bet you wonder why they did a drug test on Trayvon but not on Zimmerman - because that's the kind of thing they do on CSI (and the family;s lawyer has raised the question).

My comment is that I'm not subject to the CSI effect. It's reasonable, low cost and necessary that testing be done to determine the distance from which the shot was fired.

Besides, they will be able to determine what you want known from the autopsy.
Not from an autopsy, but rather from their clothing.

So the test wasn't even necessary to prove what you want it to prove.
Yes, the test is necessary. But, half of it was screwed up when Zimmerman's shirt was not taken that night.

However, I get it. You heard the family's lawyer talk about it, so you feel it's something that should have been done.
Nope, didn't hear him. It was a comment on CNN or the radio by an investigative reporter very early on that said that Zimmerman was allowed to go home w/o a list of normal tests done after a shooting.

For example, I would bet you wonder why they did a drug test on Trayvon but not on Zimmerman - because that's the kind of thing they do on CSI (and the family;s lawyer has raised the question).
Nope. Because a field breathalyzer test costs tens of thousands of dollars, right?
