Yes, Eastern Oregon is probably even more racist than Idaho.
That's an old "wise tale"

I don't have a dog in this fight, but it looks interesting.
Some Republicans in super-liberal Oregon are looking to ‘secede to Idaho’
A conservative group in Oregon is collecting signatures to make the rural counties in the state a part of Idaho. It's not the first time in recent history the borders of Oregon have faced a proposed change.
Seven years ago, keen for a more conservative lifestyle, Mike McCarter, a firearms instructor in La Pine, Ore., considered moving to Idaho.
But McCarter, 72, diagnosed with stomach cancer, decided not to. Now he’s thinking he might just move Idaho to him.
The Republican is a leader of a group called Move Oregon’s Border for a Greater Idaho, which thinks Oregon’s government has become too liberal and would prefer to transfer Oregon’s rural areas to Idaho’s authority.
While Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton narrowly won Oregon in 2016, then-Republican candidate Donald Trump swept up Idaho with nearly 60 percent of the vote.
McCarter’s group is asking 18 Oregon counties to approve their petitions to open communications with Oregon’s legislature. Three have in the past week, McCarter said. Once approved, the group still would need to collect signatures of about 6 percent of the counties’ populations for local voters to see the referendum on their November ballots, the Oregonian recently reported. . . .
Great idea!
Let the liberals live together.
Let the conservatives live together.
Let the moderates live together.
It would be a win-win for everyone. An end to all this bickering.
In the coming decades, there is a distinct possibility that Americans will peacefully do a Yugoslavia.

The people west of Portland and might I add south see laws coming out of the Oregon Legislature that threaten their livelihoods, their industries, their basic Constitutional rights. They have tried everything possible to turn things around and at this time see no other way but to join Idaho that does recognize their basic rights. You can call it babbling, I call it a cry of U.S. citizens that have reached the end of the road. Two counties will be voting on leaving Oregon this Fall and they are saying counties in the South of the state may be joining them.
This is the result of desperation of trying to get rid of leftist policies.

West of Portland is in the Pacific Ocean.
This is literally insane babbling.
Folks west of Portland live all the way out to Astoria.
kinda like what happened during the Civil war Parser?(LOL)
The key word this time is "peacefully."
Life is so short. Surely, people deserve to be as happy as possible.
Reports are that the former

Yes, like our civil war?
One problem
We're not Yugo, we're these United American states

They could always move
That’s ignorant.

Has about as much chance of happening as gravity all of a sudden not working tomorrow.
Probably... but it illustrates ho the EC is an utter failure, alienating the vote of millions and millions of people.
They could always move
It looks like they are also taking part of California...
Yes, they are.
I wonder how many representatives California and Oregon would lose if this was successful.
Yep and you see the exodus occurring out of California in the past few years over many of the same issues. But there comes a time when the people say enough and fight back. These people have two choices. They have done everything possible within Oregon so now it is down to move or fight to secede from Oregon. These are rural areas and they are collecting the signatures and it appears they will be successful in getting it on the ballot. It will be interesting to watch what happens.
