California is home to seven of the 10 most racially diverse cities, a U.S. News analysis finds.
Washington, D.C. – The most racially diverse city in the United States is Stockton, California, and the least racially diverse city is El Paso, Texas, a new U.S. News & World Report analysis has found.
To determine the most racially diverse cities in America, U.S. News calculated a diversity score for each of the 66 U.S. cities with populations of 300,000 or more, based on recent census data. The diversity score represents the likelihood that, in a particular city, two individuals chosen at random will be from different racial and ethnic groups.
Key findings include:
*Most cities are becoming more racially diverse. Of the 66 cities evaluated, about 70% – 46 cities – grew in racial diversity from 2010 to 2018. During that same time, the number of cities where no racial group made up more than half the population doubled from 5 to 10.
*Immigration and retirement trends contributed to increased diversity. Cities like New York, with a large immigrant population, tended to be more diverse. Experts suggest urban diversity also increased as the baby boomer generation, which is three-quarters white, moved away from cities.

How many people reading this thread have been to Stockton? I have. I worked there for two years. It is an absolute ****hole. Stockton is a city the tourists never see. It has none of the amenities or charm of the Bay Area, Los Angeles, or San Diego. If you blindfolded a tourist, and then took the blindfold off when you'd reached Stockton, they would think you'd taken them to Guatamala. In fact, I can't think of any part of the Central Valley of California that I enjoy driving through or visiting. Fresno, also located in the Central Valley, is another ****hole.
There's nothing inherently better about diversity than homogeneity, besides the food. And no one moves to a new city solely for better tasting food, we move for job opportunities, or to secure a better environment for our children. You aren't going to find opportunity or safety in the most diverse city in America, just poverty and misery.
