Man charged with assaulting 13-year-old who didn't remove hat during national anthem | TheHill

A Montana man was charged with assault after allegedly throwing a 13-year-old boy to the ground at a county fair because he believed the teenager was "disrespecting" the national anthem.

The Missoulian reports that Curt Brockway was arrested Saturday at the Mineral County Fair and Rodeo after he allegedly slammed the teenager to the ground when the 13-year-old didn't remove his hat when the anthem played.

Guy is said to have claimed that he had every right to do this because the boy was 'disrespecting' the anthem. How much you want to be he voted for Trump?

The same thing would happen in North Korea or Iran

Hmm... man commits crime, gets arrested for it and that is cause to try to link it to Trump. Somehow, I doubt that you tried to link those playing the "knockout game" or pulling off "justice for Trayvon" assaults with being likely Obama voters.

Actually, the man charged, according to his attorney, believed he was carrying out the orders of Trump. LINK

So in other words, he’s a nutbar who’s attorney is arguing he is a nutbar for a lighter sentence

I was simply pointing out that the link to Trump was based on his attorney's statement, not made up out of thin air by a poster here on DP.

I suspect that you would also argue that the Trump supporter who sucker punched a protester being escorted out of a Trump rally was "a nutbar," too and Trump had nothing to do with it.

Of course his attorney is going to try the insanity defense, after all his client assaulted a minor in front of witnesses.

Attorney Lance Jasper told the Missoulian he will seek a mental health evaluation for Curt Brockway, a U.S. Army veteran who became caught up in the heightened animosity and rhetoric gripping the nation, and convinced himself that he was following the president’s orders.

The plain truth is that one has no right to beat up folks for exhibiting behavior which upsets them. That includes *gasp* someone's failure to remove their hat when one feels that is proper decorum.
