Rapper Nipsey Hussle shot dead outside his Los Angeles store: media | Reuters

(Reuters) - Grammy-nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed outside his clothing store in south Los Angeles on Sunday, media reports said.

Two other people were wounded in the shooting outside Marathon Clothing, the Los Angeles Times reported, citing law enforcement sources.

He was shot multiple times & was pronounced dead at the hospital. It's pretty common for singers in this class to face this kind of violent death.

That's what's reported in the media. I didn't know him personally & was not a fan. But he was nominated for a Grammy award.

Rapper Nipsey Hussle, who was shot dead just moments after meeting fans outside his clothing store in LA, was due to meet police today to discuss gang violence, it has been revealed.

He wrote at 8.43pm: 'We (@LAPDChiefMoore and I ) were meeting , at the request of @NipseyHussle with him and @rocnation tomorrow at 4pm to talk about ways he could help stop gang violence and help us help kids. I'm so very sad.'

Police have not indicated if the meeting had anything to do with his death.

That’s sad, especially if it was related to him working with the police to reduce gang violence. He grew up a Crip. It’s not the easiest thing to walk away from, even if you want to. This was most likely gang related.

I'm betting the meeting was the reason for his murder. Gangs don't like it when someone messes with their "business".

They arrested the alleged killer Eric Holder, so hopefully we can see justice.
