Washington state House committee passes bill to ban personal, philosophical vaccine exemptions | TheHill

A Washington state House committee on Friday passed a bill to ban the personal or philosophical exemption for the vaccine against measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) for school-age children amid an outbreak of the virus.

The bill passed through the state's Health Care and Wellness Committee, despite opposition from critics who say parents should have a right to choose whether to vaccinate their children, The Seattle Times reported.

They have a major public health crisis & preventive vaccinations are the only answer at hand. Anti-vaxxers can go hire lawyers.

Works for me. It's for the 'greater good' of society and the parents are not forced to vaccinate their kids...they just cant expose other kids to their kids in public schools.

Good.

I am absolutely not an anti-vaxxer but I didn't have my kids take certain vaccines. Our family has a history of Guillain-Barre' Syndrome and vaccinations can and do touch off Guillain Barre' Syndrome. I had measles and chicken pox as a kid and it was no big deal. We all got those diseases. Measles isn't even one-percent as bad for you as Guillain Barre' Syndrome. No one in my family is allowed to get a flu shot, but there is talk about making flu shots mandatory, even though the efficacy of those vaccinations has been historically terrible. Making blanket one size fits all regulations may be wise for most people, but for a few of us, it is simply an unwarranted health risk.

One more thing, I had Guillain Barre' Syndrome. I would rather die from measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox or the flu than to go through that special slice of hell again.

With that being said, if you don't vaccinate your kids from things that will kill them, you are an idiot.
