Joshua Tree National Park to close amid shutdown due to overflowing toilets

A few hundred of us in the Environmental Department at Florida International University, Miami-Dade County, decided we'd had enough of the Dem's lip service to environmental issues. Sure, Gore talked a good game. He talked a lot, but what had he and Clinton done? Nothing. A measly handful of monuments? **** them. We were sick of having smoke blown up our ass.

We refused to "swap votes" with people in other states. We refused to help organize buses and such for students. We were hundreds. We voted Green. Suck it, Dems.

Miami-Dade County.

To wrap up the story...

Gore flipped out (knew it was us Greens) and went Manbearpig. We drove him over the ledge. He deserved it.

Well of course you’re thankful for that, the public is subsidizing your hobbies at great expense.

Not even 1/1000 of the federal budget goes to National Parks. Furthermore, there is nothing more American that preserving wilderness. We did it before any other country on earth did, and we have done a better job of it than any other country on earth with a large population. What you want is as antithetical to the American ideal as communism would be.

I suspect you have not worked for one of the Federal Land Management Agencies.

Question for you. How is privatizing National Parks going to improve the resource management of that land?
What you fail to understand is the Parks belong to every citizen. Once sold we would never get it back.
You are pretty short sighted in your views.

No, the Park does not belong to “every citizen” it belongs to the federal government. You have no rights in any way consistent with ownership on national parks land.

In fact virtually all privately owned working forests are open for outdoor recreation. If you want to hunt you can buy permits, but you can hike and camp on logging company land and the logging companies do a far better job controlling fires, looking after the health of the ecosystems, etc

Since you did not answer the question the default is no you have not worked for a federal land management agency.

While it is true that the federal lands belong to the federal government. The federal government represents the citizens. That is why I said the land belongs to all citizens.

You also failed to answer the question on how privatizing federal lands would improve management and be a benefit to the citizens of the US.
