Flea-Borne Typhus Spreads Across Los Angeles Area

Between July and September, the county identified nine cases of flea-borne typhus associated with downtown Los Angeles, and six of those cases were in people experiencing homelessness, according to the county. There are (now) 57 cases of flea-borne typhus in LA County, a health department spokesperson says. Typhus fever has reached "epidemic levels" in Pasadena and an outbreak has hit downtown LA. On Friday, one city in the county -- Pasadena -- reported epidemic levels of typhus fever. This year, 20 Pasadena residents have been confirmed to have typhus fever, up from the expected one to five cases per year,.. Nationwide, diseases transmitted through the bites of blood-feeding ticks, mosquitoes and fleas have been a "growing public health problem," according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
A CDC report published in May found that reported cases of such vector-borne diseases more than tripled across the country between 2004 and 2016.Though rare, plague was the most common flea-borne disease included in that data.

"Since the disease is spread by fleas, it is possible that endemic typhus could be transmitted year-round. It's hard to speculate on why we are seeing more cases, except for the fact that Los Angeles, San Francisco have the highest numbers of homeless and illegal aliens living on the streets. Sanitation of both cities has fallen by the wayside. Ahhh, the benefits of Progress Marxist Socialist Democrat societies.

Rats and trash infest Los Angeles' 'typhus zone'

Wholesale fish distributors, produce warehouses and homeless encampments line Ceres Avenue downtown, creating perfect conditions for rats.
Uneaten food is dumped on the street — a salad platter was recently splattered on the asphalt — and discarded clothing piles up only to be swirled into rats' nests.
Those rats, experts say, are likely contributing to the growing number of typhus infections cropping up on skid row and other parts of the region. The disease is spread by fleas, which are carried by rats, opossums and pets.

Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM), also known as polio-like paralysis, is a devastating condition with sudden-onset weakness in one or more arms or legs. This serious illness has been on the rise with it peaking every 2 years. In 2014, the Centers for Disease Control confirmed 120 cases and in 2016 that number rose to 144. The state of California alone accounted for roughly half the number of cases between 2012 and 2015.

Ain’t diversity in disease equally grand, too?

California’s health statistics (or any other social stats) shouldn’t really be compared to northern US states. A more valid comparison would be Mexico or Guatemala given the state’s demographic and cultural realities. If you import the Third World, you start having Third World problems. Just another of the consequences of California’s glorious diversity . . . ain’t it wonderful?
If you import millions of people from Mexican and Central American slums, you wind up with all of the medical, economic, and social problems that characterize Mexican slums. There's no great mystery here, because stating the obvious is too politically incorrect.
It’s really not all that complicated.
1) Progressive Marxist Socialist Democrats/DSA have told us that we should not encourage chastity or abstinence because, well, kids will be kids, so let them go at it.
2) PMSD/DSA's have surrendered on the drug war, because “the war is a colossal waste” and people should be free to enslave themselves, so let’s hand out needles.
3) PMSD/DSA's have told us that homosexuality and transgenderism is perfectly normal.
4) PMSD/DSA's have demanded that no one ever must discuss God in any public setting ever, or be faced with a lawsuit or a destruction of career.
5) PMSD/DSA's have demanded that we have open borders, that we must let in anyone across the globe to distribute the wealth of our indigenous industry at the expense of trillions of tax revenue and opening up our population to all sorts of third world practices and diseases.
And now the natural consequences are exploding and the corrupt MSM can no longer hide things. The CDC can no longer cower behind misleading PC charts and graphs. And typically, leftists are now screaming for more money and faulting our health care system for not doing enough to retroactively paper over the consequences of corrupt morals and bad policy. Of course PMS/DSA Leftists will now paint themselves in a moral light as being the compassionate ones who now want to help those afflicted. The problem is, is that it is these very “compassionate” PMSD/DSA's who are directly responsible and about these very calamities!
