Mosul completely freed from ISIS: What's next for the city left in ruins?

Hope the locals can hold on to it this time and not Drop their US Tax-Paid Guns and Run.

Well it seems like the positive upside of this is that the Iraqi army is now battle-hardened and knows how to fight an insurgent enemy.

Great news ! After months of fighting, Mosul is finally freed from ISIS. :applaud :applaud
Let's hope it will stay this way for a while and that the reconstruction of the city can happen in optimal conditions.

Yes. That is good news for the survivors.

What we see now is a problem with the rules of war. Both sides are being accused of having broken the Geneva Conventions for the weapons of engagement used. That makes the costs much higher for nations willing to enforce or restore security. This is untenable, if the job is not paid for by the international community. The hard and soft cost of shouldering that responsibility is too expensive to make sense. This will become increasingly important over the next decade.

I'd be more optimistic if we Superglued their hands to the Guns.
