Willie Nelson has given up smoking, but he'''s still using pot

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Willie Nelson may have given up smoking, but he hasn’t stopped using marijuana.

While in San Antonio last week for two performances, the 86-year-old country music legend told KSAT TV that in an effort to take better care of himself, he no longer smokes.

But 'Silly Willy'' still enjoys his reefer at 86 y/o.

Smoke, vape it's all the same to me.

The man is 86 years old and still tours... whatever he is doing I would suggest not changing a damn thing.

I think we should all follow his example. Smoke 'em if ya got 'em.

I even developed an electronic gadget to remove the nasty smell of stale bong water from the carpet in a friend's apartment.

Why you picking on Willie? Whatever he's doing, he's taken good enough care of his health to get to 86. Loads of people never get there. What's he supposed to do? Quit so he can make it to 100?

Let him be. He's happy.

" April, he told Rolling Stone magazine marijuana became his singular drug of choice after giving up cigarettes and whiskey in 1978. He credits weed to saving his life.

"I wouldn't be alive," Nelson told Rolling Stone. "I wouldn't have lived 85 years if I'd have kept drinking and smoking like I was when I was 30, 40 years old. I think that weed kept me from wanting to kill people."

While he didn't say he would give up marijuana altogether, he did say he's no longer smoking it. "

Willie and Snoop - 2 artists possibly more famous for getting high than singing and both endlessly entertaining

Got respect for Willie every day the man continues to hold on and be a champ - he don't need money, he's having a good time
