10 more licenses issued to sell recreational marijuana in Michigan

(WXYZ) — The Michigan Marijuana Regulatory Agency issued 10 more licenses Wednesday to businesses, allowing those businesses to sell recreational marijuana.

The move came just days before recreational marijuana goes on sale on Sunday, Dec. 1.

Here's a list of the 1,400+ communities that have opted out of recreational marijuana:

It will be interesting to follow the results of legalization in MI & IL. I have mixed feelings on the subject & don't see any positive results long-term.

Why??

I 100% approve. Not only does this stop people - notably young people - having a "drug conviction" on their record, even if just a misdemeanor. Nor is that what law enforcement and court time should be spent on.

But most significant, there is a real problem with illegal pot now being laced with Meth and many other extremely addicting and health destroying tainting to hook the person.

If there will continue to be a huge marijuana industry - legal or not, I want it to be 100% legal - not by criminal and often violent dealers and traffickers - often foreign. All pot should be "Made in the USA" by law.

I discredit the huge sin tax on it, but in the balance I fully support legalization.

It's surreal that in a free country you need a license to sell a bag of weed.

I think the people you have to blame are:

1. Those who came over on the Mayflower
2. William Randolph Hearst
