Is Weed Church Church? - The New York Times

LOS ANGELES — Every Sunday, about two dozen people gather at a green cabin along the main drag of Big Bear, Calif., a small mountain town known for its namesake lake. They go there for Jah Healing Church services, where joints are passed around. April Mancini, a founder of the church, said she was drawn to the idea of cannabis as a religious sacrament back in 2013, after she met a Rastafarian who was running the place as an unlicensed medicinal dispensary. “I’m a Christian, so I wasn’t sure in the beginning,” Ms. Mancini said. “I didn’t want to go against God.”

But she said she studied the Bible for references to cannabis, and believed she found them in scriptures that mentioned kaneh bosem oil. (English-language Bibles usually render the term “kaneh bosem,” a component of an anointing oil mentioned in Exodus, as “fragrant cane” or “sweet calamus.”).

I believe you can prove just about anything with the Bible. For instance Ezekiel & the Wheels may be one of the first documentations of a UFO sighting.

Ezekiel 1:1-48:22

If you got 'em, smoke 'em. Pot helps when you're reading the Old Testament.

I hear that if Warren wins, she is going to require us to slather each other with cannabis oil in the weekly mandated sweat lodge ceremonies to atone for our white wickedness. Just a rumor I heard though. You have to take anything the voices in my head say with a grain of salt.

Not on your first visit. ;)

But on your second visit, yes to the slathering and sweating, but the women get their pick of any very tall and well built Algonquin brave they want and the men get their pick of a number of native princesses, and the entire group jumps into a massive orgy that lasts for weeks on end.

Or maybe that might have been my first trip to pick native wild rice up in Minnesota in the Seventies...

only if they have faith. faith is a big part of religion.

Speaking to the grain of salt, I'd say that if Warren wins, a bunch of top tier corporate moguls will have to pay more taxes, both parties in Congress will force her to compromise with some enhanced form of Public Option instead of M4A, she'll go along with it, given her past career as a Republican, and most of her presidency (at least first term) will consist of trying to repair damage that we're suffering now, as regards law and order.
And aside from that, it will be a rather boring presidency, something most Americans are desperate for.
And most Americans will agree that she lacks Obama's charm and charisma, but that she also lacks Trump's sociopathic tendencies. And a lot of Republicans will despise her no matter what she tries to do.
They'll be the minority party in the House and Senate but that will not stop their anti-government crusades.

And we will move back to the center or a wee bit center-Left, but most likely the center.
Education, healthcare and jobs with a decent livable wage will continue to be the top issues.

Maybe she is sincere in her beliefs, but it sounds more like she was just searching for a legal justification for opening a marijuana dispensary without having to pay taxes. Seek and ye shall find.
