Company that offers ‘free delivery’ happy hour has difficulty fulfilling orders

Global cannabis suppliers struggled to keep up with demand on Saturday, the biggest ever 4/20 Day, an annual celebration of marijuana on 20 April, which in the US calendar is referred to as 4/20.

Suppliers in the US, where recreational cannabis is legal in 10 states, and Canada, where the drug was decriminalised for recreational use last year, reported difficulties fulfilling orders on what has been called the industry’s Black Friday.

The pot industry is big $$$ today & politicians are feeling the pressure from the pot lobby to push Federal & state legalization. Stoners vote as well.

I find it strange people put it that way but do not refer to people who drink alcohol as "drunks", even if they really really like beer.

Interesting point. I think part of the disparity is because the term "drunk" is pretty universally considered derogatory. Most people who enjoy alcohol don't call themselves "drunks". I know plenty of anti-pot people use the word "stoner" in a derogatory manner but a good number of weed users have embraced the term. Kind of like the word "nerd" has been embraced. I enjoyed school and I like reading and learning new things. I happily call myself a nerd. I enjoy marijuana. I happily call myself a stoner. I enjoy Scotch and craft beer. I do NOT call myself a drunk. :)

Bolded: Yes, it almost certainly is a sort of joking but also earnest reclamation of relatively minor slurs. But that's only when it's pot smokers referring to others or themselves. Way back in college I embraced the nickname "Burnout [first name]," and I definitely didn't burn out.

When someone who doesn't smoke uses it, the context usually makes clear it's meant negatively.
