Poll: support for legalized pot is up in all age groups

I'd say you people weren't bargaining out a deal for yourselves; this having to take my plant down out of the window and put her in some back room and have to build a shady fence or get caught watering the species on my property.

How would they prove I planted it there?

Is there a law against watering the ground, or standing in the forest.

It is only fear and I stand there and hand them my declaration.

The Judge knows me though and wouldn't let me get away with it.

Plenty of illegal growers grow on public land for those very reasons.

What the police apparently do when they find one, since it's time-consuming and dicey to wait for the grower to show up, is they physically destroy the operation, and the grower sets up elsewhere.

I've seen some interesting videos of them hanging a heavy weight from a helicopter and using it to smash the plants and any equipment, or just hovering over them and using the downward force from the rotors to smash everything flat.

Clearly an excellent use of police resources!

Are you saying that using weed doesn't alter your perception of reality?
If you smoked weed a week ago, your pee test today is negative, it's okay to smoke weed after the pee test and operate machinery?!?

No, it is never ok to operate machinery while under the influence. If any of my employees showed up to work stoned or drunk they would likely be fired, and we don’t even use heavy machinery. But I couldn’t care less if they drink or smoke weed on their own time as long as it isnt right before coming to work and as long as they don’t show up to work with a hangover.

The problem with drug tests that test for weed is they don’t test whether or not you are stoned at that very moment, only that you have consumed THC in recent days. If I vape weed today I will test positive tomorrow even though I will be sober well before then.

Allow it for recreational use nationwide. Alcoholics will make the switch. There will be fewer deaths on the road. Less domestic violence. Sure you may lose some memory and brain cells but its better than being dead.

Alcohol kills brain cells, pot doesn't.

I wish people wouldn't compare dope smoking to tobacco use.

Take a few puffs on a "dope cigarette" during your lunch break and see how good you're gonna be at calibrating the saw in a wood mill ... not to mention how well you're gonna fly an Airbus or drive an 18-wheeler.

Why not take a few shots of tequila while you're at it?

Oh, yeah, both getting high on pot or getting drunk before operating machinery are stupid, both will be prohibited by the employer, and failing blood tests for either by a person operating that kind of equipment a fireable offense.

Yeah, the good old boys, hillbillies, in my area grow a pot on the park side of the Great Smoky Mountains national park. It's not good soil, or great growing conditions, but good enough to make a little money, and supply enough for themselves and a few friends.

Unfortunately those pee tests don’t even show that. They show if you have used weed in the past days or weeks, not if you are under the influence at the moment.

:shock:the question above seems to be based on an altered perception of reality LMAO
how in the world can anybody assume or even question if thats what Bob was saying? that makes ZERO sense.

That's also a problem with CBD oil. A friend of mine wanted to use it but he worked for a DOE contractor in Oak Ridge and was subject at all times to random drug tests, and CBD oil will produce a positive test with no THC at all - made from hemp (at least what's sold locally).

That's really the only legitimate downside I see with pot legalization - the inability to test for actual impairment when driving, etc.

Poll: Support rises in all age groups for legal pot

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A growing majority of Americans say marijuana should be legal, underscoring a national shift as more states embrace cannabis for medical or recreational use.

Support for legal marijuana hit 61 percent in 2018, up from 57 percent two years ago, according to the General Social Survey, a widely respected trend survey that has been measuring support for legal marijuana since the 1970s.

As an observer of changes in illegal drug culture, I have mixed feelings about this. Of course the states want the tax benefits. But there are too many downside issues with MJ. One is its Federal ban, another is its negative effect on people in general. It's like someone invented a new type of booze - great but not good.

I think it will be legalized in my life time and i see nothign wrong with it as in i want to stop it and fight against it.
What factual downsides are you talking about that are "to many"?

theres all the cons that line up with alcohol being legal, and id say its less. Theres the challenge of technology catching up to determine when a person is actually intoxicated which i think they already figured it. SO i dont see much a down side unless people also want alcohol banned.

Seems like way more benefit to me. Hhuge market, and tax increase for the fed and states. New industry for people to work in. Make it safer and regulate it, drug crime goes down, people arent being locked up for just weed which IMO is stupid and more focus can be put on other crimes.
