Higher education: Colleges add cannabis to the curriculum

Grace DeNoya is used to getting snickers when people learn she’s majoring in marijuana.

“My friends make good-natured jokes about getting a degree in weed,” said DeNoya, one of the first students in a new four-year degree program in medicinal plant chemistry at Northern Michigan University. “I say, ‘No, it’s a serious degree, a chemistry degree first and foremost. It’s hard work. Organic chemistry is a bear.’”
===============================================
A number of colleges & universities have begun offering courses & even degrees in MJ. And there is a growing demand for people who know the difference between THC & CBD.

My degree is in chemistry & I loved the organic part of it. Unless you have a gift for it, organic chemistry can separate the men from the boys scholastically.

That is a rather sexist statement.

Organic chemistry can suck it. Nothing but memorization and labs that smell putrid. P-Chem is where it's at.

Men & boys are both males. How is my statement sexist?

I didn't mention the fact that the young women National Merit Scholars who were taking organic with me & needed good grades to get into their Ivy League colleges came to my house Saturday mornings for tutoring. If I had said that organic chemistry separates the men from the women, that could be taken as sexist. But men from boys? Don't think so.
