Great article on the potential downsides of cannabis legalization

Why not? In terms of immediate effect AND long term harm...beer outweighs pot by far.

I think we can make the product available, but market it in a different fashion. I mean, it's a very different product, if you consider how and why beer is consumed, vs. how and why pot is consumed.

I'm for responsible marketing here...especially when it comes to kids. I probably wouldn't go far enough for TG over there, but I would want to see a responsible approach. Given the nature of pot, there's far more opportunity for direct marketing, since people want to know what other people's experience with the individual strains, etc., has been. Keep the ads in those publications...no reason to have them on TV or magazines...that kind of thing.

I think there's room for compromise, so long as the stigma ceases to be nurtured.

I realize they're different. But after millions of users and decades and decades (or longer) of use...pretty sure my statement still is relevant, including taking the unproven OP into consideration. Esp. since schizophrenia tends to show up in late teens when we would still be prohibiting use. Guess 20-somethings will have to make an educated choice on their own.
