Michigan voted to legalized pot. A question to those in states with legalized pot, what's it like? Do little stores start popping up everywhere? Does crime go up or down? State prison population go up or down? Are the prices reasonable? Any significant changes? Thanks in advance!

No change in prison population or crime that I've noticed here in CA. Pricing is reasonable or I should say the price for a gram has gone down quit a bit. The quality is really good, way more potent and $5 less for a gram then just the normal good stuff just 6 years ago. We still don't have stores popping up to much. But more like 5 or so for a big city. I expect things will still change but our state hasn't been giving out the licenses to store owners like they said they would. But once they do it will be interesting to see how things change.

Our experience from CO vacations showed there were distribution shops [both medical and rec] in many small town and rural locations. I don't have a problem with it's legalization as long as it's used by adults in their off time.

BTW: I haven't used in several years.

In Oregon the growers and stores are regulated by the OLCC (Oregon Liquor Control Commission), the State issues permits to growers and stores. There really hasn't been an issue in crime going up but there has been a issue with growers recently selling their good on the black market. There reason for this is oversupply of pot, to many pot growers and not enough users. One grower here made the remark that last year he got anywhere from 1800.00 to 2200.00 for a pound of flowers, this year he is getting less than half of that. It's the ole story of supply and demand, to much supply and not enough demand. The U.S. Attorney in Oregon says they will prosecute anyone who is found in dealing on the black market, and the penalty will be severe. Recently there was a guy arrested in Nebraska from Oregon with a large amount of marijuana found in his vehicle, Oregon law forbids any grower or seller to sale their product outside of Oregon.

So is it a good thing, well, maybe a couple of years ago they all got rich but now they are learning the lesson that any producer goes through, supply and demand.
