A) Because Obama was sandwiched inbetween bush jr. and trump , plus being the first black president, he will be remembered roughly on the level of Lincoln..

He's being as up front with all of us as he possibly can be and the only ones really bitching about it are those on your side. Which is most likely because you wanted a democrat to rig the whole thing in your favor, or is that not enough projection for you then?

Trump is already illegitimate because of the mechanism that elected him in opposition to the will of the people and illegal interference from the Russians and Comey. An impeachment will only magnify that scarlet letter many times larger.

When you watch the man who will function as the foreman of the jury publicly announced that he will collude openly with the defendant, all claims of morality and justice go right out the window.

But then, we have all see just how much over backwards Trumpsters will bend to ignore, justify or cheer for their clown prince’s behavior.

If Trump tried the suspend the Constitution tomorrow, his mob would cheer for it.

2: He did not say he was going to "openly collude" with the defendant. If this is you trying to make some form of limp wristed play from one narrative to the other. It only shows that you're far more desperate than I originally thought you were.

In fact most right wingers would prefer to eliminate that department all together, right along with all non profit forms of higher education, except Christian based of course...

I am in grad school, and could count on 2 fingers, the academics that I know personally who are not progressive in nature or in politics. 2 fingers.

I do not see this changing, and the last few years has solidified this belief. This thread has solidified this belief.

They may as well. It’s not like they are following it, anyway. Constitution Schmonstitution. :roll:
 
The House with all their evidence and witnesses convincingly made their case, he's guilty.

The Senate is already stacked in favor of Trump. They have to make public votes with the risk of losing their job/career if they vote against him. They lose re-election campaign funds if they vote against him. They gain funding if they defend it.
And now Mitch has openly declared that he will 100% align with the defendant in how they organize the trial.

Trump was found guilty, and the Senate will defend him to their best of their ability to try and both minimize the political damage to him, maximize it to Democrats, and of course, acquit Trump of the impeachment articles.

In our somewhat better criminal justice system, you have courts/trials held by impartial, hopefully non-partisans, held to long-standing, millennia-old traditions of ensuring some amount of fairness.
The accused had their defense, and the opposition was prosecutors.

Now we have the court/trial, playing both the defense roll and the court/trial role. It's a farce. You know, an actual farce, as compared to the right wing mirroring of such terms.

History will record a single political party, and their co-conspirators in the leadership of the Nations intelligence agencies, attempted a coup of a duly elected President of the United States.

It will take some time for that political party to recover from the stain they boiled into the halls of Congress, and halls of Justice.
