I think people scream "socialism socialism socialism" but have very little understanding as to what socialism actually is.
Probably including the students, and 3/4 of the people here who are in favor of it, who think tax-and-spend capitalism is "socialism."
"They don't believe in our institutions!" the Democrats wail, as they go on and on about how the Senate and Electoral College need to be abolished, the Supreme Court altered, and that the upcoming election result can't be trusted if it doesn't go their way.

Tell that to the Dem candidates.... they are verging on a form of government where everything is owned and distributed equally.

"We are from the government and we're here to help"
We walk by faith, not by sight.

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

    Re: Socialism never?

Socialism is a case that starts off with "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need" and it always ends up, "Do for me what I won't do for myself"

It's the dogma and doctrine of sniveling cowards and manipulators of weak-willed women...

You're just make **** up. Present us with a link to each mainstream American politician who is advocating "public ownership/control of the means of production."

You can't because they don't exist. No mainstream American politician is attracted to it. I daresay I would be surprised if you could find any mainstream politician in any Western nation who supports this.

Please quit posting such nonsense. Thanks in advance.

Well that's the dogma and doctrine of Trump. So you're arguing that this is the dogma and doctrine of Trump's base. Based on his campaign strategy, Trump agrees with you.

Trump's Midterm Closing Argument: Pure Racial Fear

Clearly Trump believes his base is largely composed of racist (sniveling) cowards. The question is, does Trump know his base?

    No, it isn't.

Unfortunately that rhetorical gunpowder was all used up by the right when the government didn't pay the industry but simply provided tax credits for premiums in a private multi-payer system. That, we were told, was government control of the industry and had to be sabotaged at all costs. Opening the door to elimination of the private multi-payer system. Well, here we go.

Umm, socialism does work when applied correctly. Tell me, why are the scandinavian countries so happy and yet they are democratic socialist countries and damn cold to boot. You folks who try to convince everyone socialism is bad always use the worst examples you can find and never mention the best.
I'm retired. I own my home mortgage free. I basically have no debt and every other week I spend in vero beach in an oceanfront condo.
Someone please tell me again about how envious and jealous I am of others.

Um, because they're not socialist. They are capitalist and have market economies. Like most ignorant progressives, you are confusing the welfare state with socialism.
