Might we finally get to the bottom of the dark forces that used the state in their relentless attempt to dislodge newly elected President Trump? Based on a new report about dark money rolling into Fusion GPS coffers, former House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes, a California Republican, seems to think so.
A dark money group based in California contributed $2 million to The Democracy Integrity Project, the organization that has contracted with Fusion GPS and Christopher Steele to investigate President Donald Trump.
The Democracy Integrity Project's founder, a former staffer for Sen. Dianne Feinstein, has acknowledged to the FBI that the group provides information to the press, lawmakers and investigators.
Fund for a Better Future is the second Democracy Integrity Project donor to have been identified. George Soros gave $1 million to the group.​

TDIP was founded on Jan. 31, 2017, by Daniel Jones, a consultant who worked for Feinstein, a California Democrat, when she controlled the Senate Intelligence Committee. Jones has disclosed to the FBI that he hired Fusion GPS and Steele, the author of the anti-Trump dossier, to continue an investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
He also told an associate that TDIP operated as a "shadow media organization helping the government." Jones suggested to the associate, Adam Waldman, that his TDIP team planted several anti-Trump articles.​

The Judicial Watch stuff is what I was looking for! Frankly, I wish I didn't have a ton of stuff on my desk. It's a 339 page PDF and on page 22 there is a summary of some kind of text conversation between Bruce Ohr and someone else. That someone else laments that if Ohr ends up "out" he'll need another Doj or Bureau contct that's been "briefed in" so that "our guy" isn't forced to go back home.

If Ohr and Steele weren't in cahoots I'll eat my hat.

Who believes in "Coincidences", a former staffer of Diane "I love my Chinese Spy Limo. Driver" Feinstein. How does a former staffer get to be in the position to become the money handler of the Democrat Integrity Project. That name alone must have taken years to come up with.
When I was a kid their was a children's show called Claude Kurshners Circus. They had a contest that ran for months to name the clown on the show. Everyday they reminded us that the end of the contest was coming and originality counted. Then finally the time came to announce the winner and the name of the clown. The winning name was "Clowny". Integrity just as amazingly stupid.
As I have always suspected, just follow the money! You will be surprised to see where it originates!

It started with Gingrich, gained momentum when FOX News was created and started to thrive....W took continued the path of alternate reality...but actually maintained some sort of conservative logic in his practices.

With Social Media, conservative blogs and websites, that promote conspiracy theories, false facts, and hyperbole...... Trump took advantage, and now truly give these folks a voice and in their minds, legitimacy.

Corruption and money influences congress today. They no longer listen to the people.
But, that is due to a corrupt system. The system needs to change. How?
Will the foxes put a lock on the hen house? Not likely.

It can be done by the states. Historically this worked for the 19th amendment and for marriage equality.

It is clever, gives specifics, and a bit entertaining as well. It is not partisan at all, unless one supports corruption, as that is what it addresses.

I’ve done the same in the past. Question - how willing would you be to go through all that if you knew the information was going to be made public? How many people going through those background checks would do so if they knew their private information was going to be made public?

I definitely wouldn’t be willing to go through it if it was going to be made public. But then I have done some stuff that SHOULD disqualify me from holding elected office. ;). That said, I don’t think the whole thing needs to be released to the public, just whether or not they passed.

I don’t there’s a chance in hell that the results of that kind of investigation would not end up being released, not to mention the political nonsense that would ensue when you have the opposing party doing the checking.

Putin stated that he wanted Trump elected and spent millions to help him. Fusion had nothing to do with Steele's dossier except paying him for the info. Much of the dossier has been verified as fact.

And even where the details are not exact, the general thrust of Steele’s reporting seems credible in light of what we now know about extensive contacts between numerous individuals associated with the Trump campaign and Russian government officials.

However, there is also a good deal in the dossier that has not been corroborated in the official record and perhaps never will be—whether because it’s untrue, unimportant or too sensitive. As a raw intelligence document, the Steele dossier, we believe, holds up well so far. But surely there is more to come from Mueller’s team. We will return to it as the public record develops.

I don’t know, somehow all of Trump’s taxes didn’t get leaked from the IRS. There is a lot of classified information that would make previous administrations look bad that I have never seen make it’s way into the media. So it is possible, but I do think it would have to be run by an independent IG kind of body. I’m not saying there are downsides, but I think the upsides outweigh it.

Putin spent millions to help Trump. Prove it.

Fusion had nothing to do with Settle's dossier except pay him. Now that is a profound statement. Fusion was the pay master for Hillary and the DNC but that is not the beginning, the money from Hillary was first sent to Perkins Coie to hide the payment. Perkins then paid Fusion who paid Steele, who got the phony dossier from the Russians who wrote the dossier. And it was Steele who spread around the phony dossier to the press, FBI etc. It then landed on the desk of a FISA court judge to get a warrant to spy on Trump.

Much of it, most of it, some of it, a small portion of it, maybe there was none of it verified. Try producing facts.

Fusion will not testify, nor will Steele, but Ore is and telling a lot of the conspiracy between Hillary and the Russians. This hillary, Steele phony dossier is not going away. Far from it.

Have you ever seen anything that was released by the FBI, DOJ etc that was not heavily redacted. I mean like pages of solid black. No doubt we'll see some meat left on the bone but we're not going to see the entire report. Not going to happen.

I understand what you’re saying, but the results would be part of a political process. Income tax returns aren’t typically very political.

If the investigators determine that candidate X is unqualified, that persons supporters will be up in arms. If candidate Y is cleared, but is very unpopular, their opposition will be up in arms. The results, regardless of what they are, will be seen as being the current administration supporting their own party, or trying to wreck the opposing party’s candidate. I think candidate vetting correctly belongs with the media where at least their findings and biases can be debated and questioned publicly.
