Two presidential candidates, Cory Booker and Smollett's longstanding friend and associate, Kamala Harris, immediately endorsed and exploited the burst of saturation coverage by the national media to hype the "anti-lynching law" they have been using to burnish their credentials with the victimologist constituency.
The nightmare would be a televised trial over the felonious filing of a false police report and other possible charges. Yesterday, two famous progs started the campaign to treat Jussie as a victim of a psychiatric malady and therefore properly given treatment, not a prison sentence of up to three years.
Rep. Eric Swalwell has taken time off from his incessant unproven claims of Trump collusion with Russia to express sympathy for poor Jussie and "hope he gets the help he needs." Rep. Eric Swalwell on Jussie Smollett: "I hope that this was not something that was Mr. Smollett did to himself, or created, and if that is the case, I hope he gets the help that he needs."
It almost worked, but for Smollett choosing the wrong CCTV camera for his stunt. Now it is a crisis for Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Robin Roberts, and many other pols (like Nancy Pelosi, who deleted her tweet on the attack) and media figures who jumped on the incident, accepting Smollett's tale as gospel and victimizing me and every other Trump-supporter.

Trump Derangement Syndrome seems to be highly contagious. Smollett is causing liberal angst by exposing the fact that most "hate crimes" are hoaxes.
The bottom line is that no rehab can reach the depth of hate that Smollett and many Progressives Marxist Socialists allow to smolder in their souls. This man's and others TDS actions, their rants, ease with which they lie, are all indicators of a contagion in this country. The character of Jussie, feasts on hate and he is proud of it. The same can be said of many of our politicians, most of our "journalists" and professors. Something has to give.
This is turning into quite the Black History Month for the Democrats as seen by:
- Jussie Smollett and a faked hate crime
- Ralph Northam wearing blackface
- Ilhan Omar's anti-Semitic comments
- Justin Fairfax and his alleged sexual assaults
- AOC's Green New Deal.
- Nancy Pelosi's dementia
- AOC's combined stupidity and ignorance
- Joe Biden's pawing of little girls (on camera, over-and-over)
- Beto saying he'd take down existing Wall! (idiot)​
By their actions and statements, evidently Progressive Marxist Socialist Democrats don't believe that blacks can measure up to the standards held for whites. I don't believe that, but when you listen to PMS Dems talk about minorities, they have very low expectations for them.
They, by their own words and policies, reveal that they think blacks are nothing more than children who need to be guided by some white liberal who takes them by the hand. I think it's condescending. Evidently blacks are in agreement with the white PMS Dems because they give those same liberal democrats 93% of their voting support.

You claim democrats condescend to minorities, yet by your own admission you view one hoax as proof that "most hate crimes are hoaxes." Seeing one instance of someone of a particular group doing something and then applying that as a standard to all people of that group has a name: Prejudice.

Huh? I'm not defending Smollett. I'm pointing out that you are accusing the left of having a splinter in their eye without seeing the plank in your own. One hoaxed hate crime doesn't turn the tables around on democrats. You said Smollett's hoax illustrates that most hate crimes are hoaxes. This is not true. One incident does not impugn the entire party, nor cast doubt on actual hate crimes. Remember the letter bombs sent by a conservative nut to top democrats? Do you feel this reflects poorly on conservatives?

He is a little known actor trying to drum up publicity and it's looking like it backfired spectacularly. It will be interesting to see if he's written off the show.

I have been fascinated by these cases over the years. It usually comes from liberals but I can remember three cases off the top of my head from the right as well. This particular guy may have done it to increase his fame. Sometimes it may just be to score political points. But usually I think it is due to some kind of mental disorder. Something akin to Münchausen syndrome. Some people thrive on attention, even if it is only as a victim.
 
While those on the left now claim Smollett is some little known actor it is hysterical because he is well known on social media with progressives and they are the ones who watch his show Empire. :lol: The ones who are not familiar with Smollett are the people who voted Republican the last presidential election.

News today is the show has been cutting Smollett's parts. This guy joins a long list of assholes who have staged false claims to accuse Trump supporters as racists, homophobes, sexists and xenophobes that have been found out to be lying assholes.


I hope this POS goes to prison for what he has done. The waste of resources in law enforcement alone in a place like Chicago is pathetic.

In less than a year, the Left has raised the hate whitey false flag operations numerous times from Judge Moore, Kavanaugh to Covington, yet at the same time attempted to pass off Weinstein, Northam, Fairfax, Phillips et al as something to bury and not to discuss. Now the Smollett incident that you and the Biased media are prepared to make him a victim and martyr. There's no doubt that there have been hate crimes perpetrated in the past on both sides. Over the last three years most of the hate crimes have been hate hoaxes. Just like "Hands Up Don't Shoot" was a lie. The demand for bigoted Leftists exceed the need.....

Most of the hate crimes have not been hoaxes. You are allowing sensationalist headlines to cloud your judgment. Most Mexican immigrants are not drug dealers and MS-13 members, most attractive Russian women in the U.S. are not spies, most Muslims are not suicide bombers, and most conservatives are not white supremacists. News headlines are not representative of they way the world works. By definition, they focus only on the most extreme aspects of society, because everything else is not newsworthy.

Hyperbole is not constructive.

I don't go around claiming I've been attacked by Leftists, or conspire to make it look like that is the case, nor do I burn my own churches as some do and claim it's whitey doing the destruction. On the other hand, I guess you condone the acts of people like Jussie Smollett and therefore are in favor of reverse racism....
 
Sadly, Smollett accurately nailed three pressure points used by the left. They have politicized claimed racism, claimed homophobia, and the expression MAGA.

The reason why l’affaire Smollett matters so much is the clarity of the disaster. It will lead to searching questions in the Democratic party about the nature of the campaign they want to run in 2020. Up to now, victimhood has been the new apple pie on the American Left. Poor Justin Smollett – wealthy and well-connected and successful – seems to have been trying, albeit in a bizarre manner, to get himself a piece of the action.

As the truth emerges (and Smollett could face charges himself if the incident is proven a hoax), the centrist Democrats will be keeping those ill-judged tweets and statements from their woke opponents up their sleeves. The question, they will pose, is: does the party want to be the home of faux-victims? Can it stand for more? It is possible that Smollett has done real damage to the Left. But is is also true that he has provided what Americans call, ‘a teachable moment.’

The centrists will say: do not fall for victimhood stories from trendy folks from Los Angeles. Do not squeal at Americans about their homophobia or racism (both of which are real of course) in a way that drowns out messages about health-care and employment.

In this, Justin Smollett has done some folks a favour.
