Now that it’s (almost) over, it’s worth doing a little autopsy on the political world in 2018. When we look back we see a year of disappointments, missed opportunities, and ultimately failure on behalf of the Republican Party. And none were larger than the failure to build a wall to help secure our southern border.... It’s popular among elected Republicans to blame Democrats for this failure, but they own it. And they lost control of the House of Representatives, in part, because of it.... Republicans had control of both Houses of Congress, though you wouldn’t know it from a legislative perspective. Major campaign promises resulted in very little successful action, and while Democrats were committed to not helping, the GOP has no one to blame but themselves.... A small percentage of a small percentage of the government remains shut down as we prepare for 2019, in a fight over funding for a border wall. Democrats will never agree to the $5 billion President Donald Trump. At least not now.... Republicans didn’t lose in November because they’d kept their campaign promises and had nothing else to offer going forward. They lost because they didn’t follow through on the promises they were elected to fulfill. Yes, they cut taxes, but that was last year and long forgotten. Obamacare wasn’t repealed and replaced, even with the individual mandate penalty being zeroed out. And there was no progress on the wall, or even a push for one.

Neither Ryan or McConnell were will to do their jobs and support Trump and the will of the people for the last two years. Yes, Ryan has quite. IMO Good riddance to him and what is McConnell doing leading the GOP in the Senate?
If you recall, President Trump asked Senate Majority Leader McConnell to do his job and call for a filibuster. He refused to listen. He also needs to step down for the reminder of his term and let someone take over that is willing and able to
Unfortunately, DJT is still viewed as the enemy of the rightful order by at least half the country.
It's long past time to take the gloves off and put a stop to standing around with hands in pockets to watch our Country sliding into the sewer that looks like Venezuela. We need to take a page out of the Progressive Marxist Socialist Playbook and remove McConnell and Lying Kevin McCarthy by whatever means necessary.
I fear that extremeists of the Progressive Marxist Socialist Left will succeed in the removal of Trump. His assassination will be the final key. On that day, I will mourn for our president and this country together. Our country will immediately go into the sewer and the Globalist Progressive Marxist Socialists will have won.

So in other words the typical tactics of the Trump cult---desperate flailing, hysterical attempts to blame everyone and anyone but the Dear Leader, idiotic fairy tales(who exactly is going to assassinate Trump?) fantasies about strongman style "crackdowns" on anyone who doesn't worship the Dear Leader, and just general, frothing at the mouth, hatred for the United States.

Trump said it best back in 2013. He said that he should be fired and I agree.

"If you say, 'Who gets fired?' it always has to be the top," Trump said during an episode of "Fox & Friends," his favorite morning show, that aired in September 2013. "I mean, problems start from the top and they have to get solved from the top. The president's the leader. He's to get everyone in a room and he's got to lead."

Well, Doc, I was pretty much with you until you started talking about people getting killed. Violence is no way to resolve the issues at hand. If we cannot use the system to change the system then the system cannot be saved and we're all going to hell.

Trump won't run for president in 2020. It won't happen. It is becoming obvious even to Trump cultists that the president is as crazy as a **** house rat. His condition has nowhere to go but down. He has maybe only a few more years before he will be sitting in a rocking chair on the front poach of a drool farm. The sad, hell, horrifying, thing is that either GOP Congress people and senators are all too aware and refuse to do anything about it or that most of the GOP has been compromised by foreign money and governments just as Trump has.

The GOP is gone. G-o-n-e, gone. Over, finished, kaput. Granted there are people who remain in the party. It is not the nature of our species that everyone would leave a rotting political party all at the same time. Some left years ago. They saw or smelled the rot earlier than most. Some, such as myself, stood around dumb****ed after Bush the Lesser was elected. The party left us. Many of us did not chase after it. Why would we?

People are still leaving the GOP, and the Democratic Party to a lesser extent, and the GOP continues to leave its supporters. The GOP is almost history. Donald J. Trump is in the process of stomping the life out of it.

My guess is that Trump's deteriorating mental health and the treasonous support Trump continues to receive from his GOP on the Hill will cause an international ****storm similar to 9/11 or the recession of 2008 or worse. It will be something far too large to ignore. Trump will be incapable of responding - he already is incapable of doing his job - and our decimated government will struggle mightily to function.

The People of the United States have already reached the point where they do not trust Washington. We have reached the point where we do not believe Washington, either party, represents the best interests of the nation. Our elected officials in Washington are most interested in increasing their own personal power. They are interested first and foremost in money - wherever that money comes from.

We aren't far away from the day when most Americans will admit that ^^^ to themselves. It appears to be that people loyal to the GOP are going to come to that realization first. Again, not all at once. And Democrats won't be far behind.

Great post. The only thing I'd point out is that there are plenty of Democrats who already get this. Government can work for the people and be a force for good working within society. But ours is very sick, chock full of people working for elite interests and not for the interests of the people.

Sorry, but I don't read, write or speak Russian. I am fluent in Italian, French and English only. How about you?

I think you should re-assess your English. Poor style and grammar is not something I normally point out, but in this case, it raises questions about what you mean:

Neither Ryan or McConnell were will to do their jobs and support Trump and the will of the people for the last two years.
Perhaps were willing to do their jobs? And is it that they were supposed to do their jobs, and support Trump, and (presumably support) the will of the people? Or is it that doing their jobs would be to support Trump and support the will of the people? Or are those--Trump and the will of the people--the same thing?

Yes, Ryan has quite.
Ryan has quite what? Quite the winning smile? Quite the plucky attitude?

IMO Good riddance to him and what is McConnell doing leading the GOP in the Senate?
Good riddance to Ryan and to what McConnell is doing leading the GOP in the Senate? Or is this just a run on sentence?

If you recall, President Trump asked Senate Majority Leader McConnell to do his job and call for a filibuster. He refused to listen.
Did Trump refuse to listen, or McConnell?

And so on. These kinds of questions make your post nearly unintelligible.

Surely co-equality of the branches of government is logical, however political ideology should not be the reason for attempts to destroy the Republic. The Democrats (Progressive Marxist Socialists) have been intent on bringing down this lawfully and duly elected president by the people. Asking a presiding leader of the Senate or House of Representatives to do their jobs and pass legislature/law is lawful and right. Did you claim the same when LBJ bent the arms, blackmailed and bribed Democrats in both Houses to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964, or Obama doing the same for the ACA? The following shows the corruption of your co-equal branches of government in the 21st Century.

This shutdown is the direct result of Donald Trump just as he stated. Likely the only absolute truth he has produced this month.
