G-20 Accomplishment by Donald Trump and Xi Jinping

Saying it again and again doesn't make it true. My point still stands. You (and Stang unless he changed his opinion) are attacking me over obvious hyperbole. If that's what you want to hang your hat on and say I "got nailed" then be my guest. I'm fully aware that the reason you are attacking the hyperbole and not the point being made is that you are either unable or that it's simply too difficult for you to argue the actual point. I'd love for you to prove me wrong.
"If it had been a snake it would have bitten you" comes to mind.

Your whole side bases its criticism of the President constantly, incessantly, continuously, banally, comically then annoyingly in just such ubiquitous hyperbole ... nearly ALL the TIME.

If you, not just you but nearly everybody on your side, were ever to do it differently, we wouldn't even know. Could not be expected to know as its become such good habit to mainly ignore you folks while you, you know, are at it, doing your TDS thang.

But you folks so rarely do anything but, say another rendition of the massively fake every other day fatal "bombshells" that keep hitting the apparent man of steel, Trump, bouncing off but never ever exploding... right on down to the pettiest, on the two scoops of ice cream level.

And you, right here, didn't provide substance to your criticism either. The point you were countering was that the media had barely reported good news by Trump at the G20 and you were making it like if they actually reported this news, undeniably good news, a victory of sorts for BOTH countries, that we would be making it out like you, we all have to idolize Trump.

Again, pure silliness along with a portion of nambypamby wailing and gnashing of gnarled teeth. So, ya may wanna, ya know, practice what you preach [bolded].

Yano?

Well, that's just hogwash. You are proving once again that you don't understand exactly what point I was addressing, and once again, you haven't asked "exactly what is this guy trying to say". You take what I typed, find some hyperbole, insist that I'm saying one thing when I'm really not. There's more hot air in this last post than a sack full of farts. You keep attacking me as though I'm discussing this like a little kid when in reality you haven't directly addressed anything I've said other than a single line of obvious hyperbole. And I don't blame you. If it was my job to try to defend Trump I'd imagine that I would have to do the same thing. Avoid the actual points and just name call and attack others. It's not your fault that he forces you to resort to these tactics.

The poster was upset that people aren't posting loudly enough about the accomplishment of Trump. I'm saying it's not an accomplishment. It would only be made to be an accomplishment if you were to lower the bar to an insane level. He wants it to be reported that the president reached a very important deal when in reality all they did was reach a deal to stop the tariffs that he started so that they'd have more time to reach a deal. That's not an accomplishment. Reaching an actual deal that is good for the country, that's an accomplishment.

That, bro, is pure out and out BuuuuUUULLLLL****.

We BOTH know it. Here is what the other poster actually said:

The USA and China made an economic deal at the G-20 in Argentina. Tariffs have been suspended while the two countries try to work out new trade agreements. Although that’s important for the economic well-being of Americans, the leftist biased media has barely reported it.
[Sorry to disturb you Doc, but just had to show where the Bull**** was birthed.]

That, bro, says NOTHING like you say it says. He did not say a damn word about accomplishments, he only spoke of just reporting the damned good news. Did not mention permanency, any final attainment or disposition, nothing of that sort, just for allowing the American people to generally be told so as to be aware of what happened potentially positive at the G20.

You are completely and utterly wrong, bro. It's not like its hidden, you should admit it to yourself. Might just as well, we can all see it.

So I think the takeaway from this is that you should calm down, take a deep breath, and really try to understand and ask people what they are saying and what they mean before attacking them. It will save you loads of embarrassment in the future. If you had simply asked "why do you think he is saying this is a Trump accomplishment?" I would have gladly given you a quick answer and you could have avoided stepping on the proverbial rake. Quit arguing with so much anger and you make it easier on everyone.

Um, a deal has yet to be reached, so there is nothing to report until that happens.

~~~~~~
Why don't you admit that this is part of negotiating a deal. What was accomplished at the G-20 is a step forward.
Thank you!!! I'm glad to see that there are people on this board that don't have comprehension problems and are free from the Trump Derangement Syndrome.
How comical and...
Screw that, bro... he explained exactly what he meant in the OP.
Created a big ol pile and then stepped in your own bs big time. I know I am weary of the amount of childish pettiness, the nasty ill will attached to the illogic that we are supposed to field day in and day out here, always with that stiff upper lip. Most of us are way past bone weary, overfed up with ALL the fricken fried bull being served up.
You are sufficiently bright so you catch my drift.
Fatherly suggestion, dispense with the fatherly talk, you are simply not up to it. You see, my father already taught me better....besides its common sense, don't create such trash then step right back in it. Certainly did not expect to think you would actually be directing me as to how to ask nicely, did ya? Maybe try not starting off trash talking.
Yano? Oh yeah, you still don't. Still, thats on you tho, bro.
You're smart enough to know what hyperbole is. I'm not sure why you are acting as though I really honestly thought that he wants me to bow down and prostrate myself in Trumps greatness 3x daily. I think you should question your own ability to read things straight if you think that "worship" wasn't an obvious example of hyperbole.
I'd appreciate it if you'd respond to my statement rather than to attack me for what was so obviously an exaggeration to highlight the absurdity of what was being asked.
I am with K. Your response was patently absurd. Its nice that China stopped hammering us and came to the table. Its about time.
Trump says China agreed to reduce tariffs on US car imports
While the usual suspects will downplay the significance, Many outlets reported this with their usual hate trump style using words like "stumbles", "Far from over"...Not exactly untrue but they cannot help themselves but to place a negative twist on a relatively historic turn of events.
Lets hope it works out for all of us.
Oh well. All I can do is offer advice and show you your mistakes. Hopefully when you calm down a bit you can see all of the spots where you went wrong in all of your posts. A little humility goes a long way.
Have a great day.
Can you actually point out the exact part of my post that was absurd? My entire point is that this isn't an actual accomplishment as the OP is claiming. We (supposedly, because you can't trust Trump) reached an agreement that we will talk about reaching an agreement. The only way this is an accomplishment is if you are lowering the bar for this president. This is the same as if I had come on here back when Obama was president and started complaining about the conservatives aren't sufficiently discussing Obama's accomplishment of beginning talks with Iran's leadership. Not that a deal had been reached, just that we agreed to discuss the possibility of a deal. That's an outlandish claim and the conservative posters on this forum would (correctly) mock me for such unabashed devotion. Hell, the Dow recently plunged 600 points as the reality that there really isn't any deal that has been reached yet has been realized. If you're just trying to say that it's good that the talks are going on, then I'm right there with you. But in reality Trump can not be trusted on any of these matters. We have to be fully aware that this is the same man who received absolutely no concessions from NK and then left the meeting claiming that they are no longer a nuclear threat. If he is either so ignorant or so dishonest (take your pick) to ay that NK is no longer a nuclear threat then you must be aware why an intelligent person would not place any trust what so ever on his claims until I have a document to read explaining the agreement in full that has been gone over by experts. That's the reality. That's nt trump derangement syndrome. It's just reality.
Yes, well, me too. :thumbs:
There are quite a few without the affliction. Some were reluctant at first, others on our own side that still just don't get Trump.
But they will either come around or be a part of the problem. But there are some intelligent folk here. I don't get much interaction with those as they are almost exclusively more to this lean.
Yep, I have to put up with the TDS too much just like everybody else. :lamo
Still, it's a great life.
Nah nah nah, not getting off that easy, especially as slippery as you are trying to be.
That, of course, would have been nice had I made a mistake... but as I have already shown, the OP explained exactly what he meant:
You know, I find repetition, though frowned upon in many education circles, is often necessary when students have a block or whatever, an impediment to their comprehension, learning and understanding...so I will show you again:
The USA and China made an economic deal at the G-20 in Argentina. Tariffs have been suspended while the two countries try to work out new trade agreements. Although that’s important for the economic well-being of Americans, the leftist biased media has barely reported it.
Sorry again Doc, but you know how it is... just gotta 'splain it to 'em over and over and over... and they still refuse to get it.
Thank me.
There, he explained EXACTLY WHAT HE MEANT. EXACTLY. Hell, its HIS OP. Yano? Oh yeah, you dont. Your bad, not mine.
lol...your effort, though noble, is most likely wasted. Probably best to leave it at the bolded. ;)
Can you actually point out the exact part of my post that was absurd?
Sure. The kneejerk extreme hyperbole is a good place to start. You already admitted as such so nothing to argue.
After decades of non agreement or even coming to the table for such, Coming to the table and reaching an agreement for anything is a step forward. A three month period to discuss the issues seems like a positive outcome to me. This may all fall apart but at least this is further than anyone else has gotten on this subject. It seems unlikely we could be worse off than before if this tactic fails.
"As a permanent policy, the imposition of tariffs is protectionist and among the worst forms of crony capitalism, favoring some industries at the expense of others, as well as at the expense of consumers. They are an unconscionable tax on the American consumer.
But as a temporary negotiating tactic, tariffs are painful but necessary. How else are we going to persuade our trading partners to open their markets if we don't impose tariffs? We negotiated NAFTA, but years later, if you want to export a quart of milk to Canada, you have to pay a 270% tariff. Obviously, NAFTA opened some markets but left many others closed. The results of negotiated deals like these are to set into place uneven playing fields where our trading partners have more access to American markets than we have to theirs, thus most of our major trading partners have trade surpluses with us while we have trade deficits with them.
Our trading partners are perfectly happy with this arrangement and see no need to open up their markets further. That's why Trump had to impose tariffs on their imports to the U.S. if he wanted to get their attention.
In the short term, there will be pain and business losses and higher prices to consumers, but in the long term, it will be a great victory for American consumers and businesses. That's because our trading partners can never win a trade war and will be forced to concede. They can put counter-tariffs on our goods, but since they export more to us than they import, they have much more exposure. China can put tariffs on $130 billion's worth of imported goods, but we can respond with tariffs on over $500 billion worth's of Chinese exports. Who do you think will win such a trade war, and quickly?"
China continues to take advantage of US
Kneejerk extreme hyperbole? Lol, because I used the term worship? Come on, are you pulling my leg or something? I've never seen people get so upset over a simple
Obvious hyperbole is absurd? Do you go around berating people for saying it's raining cats and dogs? I've never seen so many people try to avoid the topic by complaining about an obvious rhetorical device. Also, I didn't "admit" anything. There was nothing to admit. That's like saying that I admitted that I had breakfast the other day. It's not illegal to use hyperbole if you aren't trying to trick somebody.
What part of this has anything to do with what I said? I never said it's not a step forward. But it's not some accomplishment as the OP tried to suggest. If you are only trying to convince me that it's good for countries to talk or that our relationship with China isn't perfect then you could have simply asked me and I'd have agreed. That doesn't address my specific points.
Also, feel free to address the rest of my post that you conveniently left out and ignored. I understand completely if you don't feel you are able, but it would be very nice of you to at lease muster up an attempt. :)
