Have you noticed that “white supremacist” has evolved into “white nationalist”?

We are Anglo Saxon Americans

It is IMpossible to discuss this topic, for people do NOT agree on the definition of a so-called "White supremacist."

To me, in 2018, a few losers (no education, no job, no family) do delude themselves into believing that Caucasians are "superior." This makes it easier for those losers to live with themselves.

I feel, however, that the vast majority of so-called "White supremacists" are people who do NOT (NOT!) hate any other ethnicity and who treat people of all ethnicities with respect.

BUT:

1. They are sick and tired of other people (including many "liberal" fellow Caucasians) blaming them for being responsible for all of the nation's social ills.

2. They do feel that they are NOT evil people just because they prefer to interact primarily with people who share their cultural values.

He didn’t say nationalist, though. He said white nationalist. Nationalism and white nationalism are very different things. But white nationalism and white supremacy are not very different things, IMO.

Trump did not say "white nationalist," just like he did not say "Nation of Islam black power advocate." He said "nationalist," as opposed to "internationalist" or "anti-American rebel."

SIAP. You must have the desire to suppress others to be proud of your white culture?:lamo

~snipped for space~

Of course, this is a deliberate, dishonest ploy by the Trump haters.

1. Trump says, "I'm a nationalist".

nationalist noun

na·tion·al·ist | \ˈnash-nə-list,

ˈna-shə-nə-list\
Definition of nationalist (Entry 1 of 2)
1
: an advocate of or believer in nationalism
2
: a member of a political party or group advocating national independence or strong national government

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/nationalist

Fair enough. I don't think anyone would object to this self-characterization from Trump.

2. The Trump haters add the word "white" because...well, Trump happens to be a Caucasian.

white nationalist noun

Definition of white nationalist
: one of a group of militant whites who espouse white supremacy and advocate enforced racial segregation

I wonder what the haters would do if we had a black Republican who called himself a "nationalist"? Would they add the word "black" because...well, he happens to be black...and call him a black nationalist?

black nationalist noun, often capitalized B&N

Definition of black nationalist
: a member of a group of militant blacks who advocate separatism from the whites and the formation of self-governing black communities

Trump haters appear to be quite racist.

Wouldn't "White Supremacist" be a harsher term than "White Nationalist"? A WS thinks white men are superior to all others. A WN just wants people to be separated by race, not claiming that they are superior. Now, someone can be both, but to me at least, they have different meanings.

You're definition in both cases are wrong.

Trump did not say "white nationalist," just like he did not say "Nation of Islam black power advocate." He said "nationalist," as opposed to "internationalist" or "anti-American rebel."

I wasn’t talking about Trump. I was talking about the OP.

Are you saying the two are NOT synonymous?

They aren't.

Supremacist means you think you are better than all others.

Nationalist means you think your country is.

I'm a proud nationalist.

SHhhhh dont let common sense facts get in the way of a triggered, kneejerk, made up narrative ;)

Everybody honest understands what the definition of white nationalism is and it is very similar with white supremacy and they share many of the same racist values that over lap

the discussion is about WHITE nationalist and WHITE supremacy and they are in fact synonymous. Nationalist has its own meaning that is NOT the same as white nationalist.

In this context, white is an adjective. The root word, nationalist or supremacist, stands on its own.

you can feel that way but facts prove it wrong

definitions which i already posted here this thread prove it

white nationalist (noun)

white nationalist
NOUN
An advocate or supporter of the political interests of white people regarded as a nation, especially to the exclusion or detriment of others.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_nationalism
White nationalism is a type of nationalism or pan-nationalism which espouses the belief that white people are a race[1] and seeks to develop and maintain a white national identity.[2][3][4] Its proponents identify with and are attached to the concept of a white nation.[5] White nationalists say they seek to ensure the survival of the white race, and the cultures of historically white states. They hold that white people should maintain their majority in majority-white countries, maintain their political and economic dominance, and that their cultures should be foremost.[4] Many white nationalists believe that miscegenation, multiculturalism, immigration of nonwhites and low birth rates among whites are threatening the white race,[6] and some argue that it amounts to white genocide.[6]

so again nationalist and white nationalist are VERY different. White supremacy and white nationalist are not.
