I watched that presser. There was no “off the rails” or anything else. It’s obvious that whatever is going on in Syria, it’s time for the Arab League or some Arab outfit do to some of their own killing and dieing for a change. My take a way was he wanted to kick Syrias ass, then leave them to sort it out and not get sucked in any deeper.

and the other issue was the Special Fisherman tossing his lawyers office - with a New York warrant no less. He is looking for a basis to charge someone with another unrelated process crime. Trump is putting the pressure on mueller to **** or go home, and I agree completely.

I watched a presser and didn't take away the same thing as the OP.
I saw someone trying to deal with a friggen mess in Syria left by the previous administration seeking advise on how to proceed.
I saw someone fed up with 15 months of investigations of Russia Russia Russia collusion delusions on the left and fed up . Actually the people are fed up with it too. They are turning the crap off.

Trump spent more time talking about Sessions and the investigation than he did US response to Syria..which was the reason for the press conference.

I think investigating whatever party is in power will become the norm. So you may as well get used to it.

What the hell is that, "kick Syria's ass then leave them to sort it out..."? Why the hell would you bother? You either do something or you don't. Don't start if you intend to not finish. Unless the intention is to do a recruiting tour for ISIS, maybe radicalize a few refugees already in the West. If that's the intention then yeah, do a six or eight billion dollar drive-by and leave so the jihadists can pick the cherrys.

First of all ISIS is pretty much gone.

Exactly what is our goal in Syria?
And what is our national interest there?
The most threatened country is Israel and they don't need our help there.
And to answer the poison gas? Do you want to send cruise missiles into his palace?
Then what.

It's a ****ing snake pit with exactly zero value to the USA unless we want to put "guns on the ground" and take the Syrian port away from the Russians.
Then what? Take the port in invade Syria?

Think. Think hard.

Why bother then? Just pass on the whole area. Let the cluster**** participants fight their way out of the tangle. There's never been anything good come from involvement there anyway.
But 'kicking Syria's ass then leaving them to sort it out' is so stupid a plan, it barely qualifies for the word 'plan'.

Let me widen the view for the narrow minded. Find the base that launched the poison gas and this time destroy the really important stuff - the aircraft and their infrastructure. Especially the infrastructure that takes a **** in the morning.

BUT we do have a problem. We have no proof Assad did it. Each time the US says it's leaving, gas happens. Am I the only one that is suspicious? Where the **** is CNN's "World View". Sheeeeiiiitttt....

I'm suspicious that we are being played. And if I'm suspicious, some other pretty smart people are too. We have people criticizing Trump for not bringing home a scalp last time, and now they want him to do it again so they can bitch about casualties, both enemy, friendly, and non combatant.

Trump should say: "Frame me once, shame on you. Frame me twice, shame on me"

Good morning Chuckiechan. I was on the same wave length as you in my thoughts this morning. Do we really know who caused the chemical attack? The timing is suspicious. As soon as Trump stated a couple of weeks back that he was moving toward pulling out of Syria and then another gas attack occurs. The place where the attack occurred is completely controlled by a Sunni group called the Army of Islam where the leader has called for the extermination of all Shiites and Alawites and is calling for Sharia Law to be implemented. Hardly sounds like a moderate group that I can find anything the U.S. would be willing to defend. It makes no sense that Assad getting the news that we are moving toward a goal of winding down our involvement in Syria and then respond with a gas attack that would result in a possible backlash and keep our troops there longer or possibly topple what is left of his government.

There are folks like Lindsey Graham that believe we should remove Assad from power and all of a sudden there are people on the left agreeing with him but how did that work out in Libya and Iraq? Something about all this just doesn't add up.

I couldn't agree more. But then conservatives/true libertarians tend to focus on the issue more than their hatred of the person.

Not a word from the left over re Syria again gassing their people; just Trump's 'demeanor' whatever in the heck they mean by that.

Not a word re the highly irregular and alarming aspect of a special prosecutor who admittedly has found nothing to support Russian/Trump campaign collusion of any kind let alone anything actually illegal. Not a word about the highly irregular and alarming aspect of them seizing private records of the President's private attorney, one who had nothing to do with the campaign or the current Administration. Nope. They focus on the President's reaction and demeanor and not the fact that Russia is no longer an issue but we have an out-of-control person spending millions of dollars to find something, anything so the Democrats can impeach President Trump if they win the House back in November.

Not a word re positive things happening in jobs, manufacturing, border control, rising incomes, etc. etc. etc. Nope they want to believe the President is 'off the rails.' What they are doing is childish, destructive, hateful, and wrong.
