But no. I am not surprised. I have heard the same words before from people on both sides of the political spectrum, around my own dinner table. I have called ****hole countries, "****hole countries" myself. I mean, after all, that's what they are.

I'm not gonna judge Trump for calling a shovel a shovel when I do it all the time.

Well, one consequence is that Botswana, an ally, has sent a diplomatic letter to the US enquiring if it is officially being regarded as a ‘****hole’ country.

But I guess Trumptards don’t really think good foreign relations with the jiggaboos is very important.

People supposedly inflamed by the word ****hole should not then refer to people as 'Trumptards' in the very next breath. Makes you look hypocritical and your outrage phony

You must be from the 1950’s. My grandfather was born in 1888, USMA grad in 1911, WWI, WWII and Boston administrator of the Veteran Affairs after the war. He used the term ‘jiggaboos’ when, in his journal, referring to the ‘darkies’ loading the ships after WWI in Marseille. My older brother picked up on it, but it was frowned on in polite company. Oops, I have dated myself by the term ‘polite company!’

I think Trump is his own worst enemy and says lots of stupid and inappropriate things. Did you bother to rank the countries in this hemisphere like I asked? Or are we going to agree that any objective review puts Haiti at the bottom?

The point is that the President should be using diplomatic language, i.e. being polite, instead of calling countries friendly to the US ****holes. Being diplomatic is part of the job description, and Trump is too narcissistic to be able to do that.

The "where would you rather live" question is a great diversion, but irrelevant. You've been droning on and on with it. Obviously you need someone to explain a few things, so I'm here for you.

People usually don't want to leave their homes and families and emigrate to a strange country with a different language unless the have a compelling reason. That's why we don't get a lot of people banging on our doors from prosperous places like Norway. Back in the 19th and early 20th centuries some of the countries in Europe were ****holes for a number of reasons, so we had a lot of immigrants from those countries, including my own ancestors. Today Western Europe has cleaned up its' act to the point where its' citizens are happy to stay put. Citizens of other countries, which you might call ****holes, are the ones with the compelling reasons to come here for the opportunity to earn a better life for themselves and their children. By and large, immigrants come from ****hole countries, not paradise.

It doesn't matter what they are ranked at, do you not see an issue with the president of the United States calling an entire continent a ****hole? Really simple thing here, either you hold him accountable for his unprofessionalism or you don't.

It does matter. You just wont answer because you know Haiti is one of the worst places to live on the planet. While Trumps words showed a barstool level of classlessness, he was accurate just the same.
