Wonder if the NFL/NBA brouhaha means that Robert Mueller is hitting a nerve!
Leave it to DJT to make even Sunday more political and divisive than it has gotten on it's own. Enjoy your games!

I'm not sure how you tie the two together. But maybe. I don't know how he stands all themcriticism even without Mueller. He has nerves of steel, I guess. Maybe Trump thrives on stress. Some people do. And Lord knows he must have plenty of it.

I think he was simply playing into his base. I'm sure the crowd loved it.

I think Rexedgar is talking about misdirection. Get everyone talking about the NBA/NFL crap so they don't notice what Mueller is doing.

Honestly I think he's incredibly thin skinned. I don't think he takes criticism well at all. Yes he's getting beat up daily but that comes with the territory these days for politicians. He seems to take every thing personally and spends an enormous amount of time getting in petty tit-for-tat ****.

Is anyone who supports Trump a Russian bot? Or only those who get paychecks? ;)

Trump is not a politician. He wasn't elected by most of those who voted for him to be one.

He is a real estate developer and salesman. He is also in his 70's.

If you want to understand how and why he is acting the way he does, that should explain much of it for you.

I don't know if we have any Russian bots, but it's weird how supportive of Russia many of our conservative posters are these days.

I know what he is - I'm a New Yorker remember :)

Whether he is or isn't, whether the people who voted for him want him to be one or not, the rules of the game for people in elective office are political. They are de facto politicans whether they like or not.

He's going to get his name dragged through the mud by some segment of the populace like pretty much every other president we've had. That's life. He needs to man up, ignore it, and go about doing the job he was elected to do (I'll refrain from pointing out the obvious that neither he nor many who voted for him actually know what they want him to do in any kind of detail).

Well...as a New Yorker you would know from observing his behavior (as I have) over the last several decades that he hasn't changed his normal behavior simply because he was elected President.

Like I've said time and again, I voted for him with my eyes wide open to his past faults and he was STILL the lesser of the two evils running for the office.

But he is a man who has had to deal with unions, organized crime, and the natural arrogance and belligerence exemplified by many fellow residents of NYC.

IMO if he hadn't had to face all the anti-Trump reactionary rhetoric and rebelliousness of the losers coupled with the constant bias in the MSM, he would be less reactionary himself.

I would wish he could be more "Presidential," and I sometimes cringe when I see his reactions...but I am neither surprised nor overly concerned since my expectations were based on a solid knowledge of "The Donald" before I voted for him.

I don't think this has anything to do with Mueller.

Trump made his remarks at a campaign rally. He was trying to play to the crowd and it worked. They loved his remarks. By rights, that should have been the end of it.

But the left and the Trump haters latched onto his remarks, did their usual spin, hyperbole, innuendo and lie thing and have gotten everyone all riled up against Trump. THEY are the ones responsible for this brouhaha.

On the other hand, when the media starts slamming Trump, you can bet the farm that Trump will slam back.

You are just a 'savvy' New Yorker. Or is that an ex- New Yorker. Solid knowledge means what? Watching "The Apprentice?"

Wait...who has "nerves of steel" to you? Mueller or Trump?

Trump has some of the thinnest skin I've ever seen. He's constantly flying off the handle after hearing things he don't like. He has such thin skin, he even managed to bring up Rosie O'Donnell in a presidential debate because he was still miffed about something.

But the point is, it doesn't seem to bother him to be on the hot seat all the time. He's going to do it his way. Period. It would be very ezmfor him to curry favor. He intentionally chooses not to.

I think you could be right about the misdirection, although Mueller has been out of the news for weeks/months and only the odd rumour about what he may be doing breaking through the usual noise.

I very much dispute that Trump is thin skinned - that was Obama - Trump is, however, unable to resist commenting on and countering every item in the news even marginally related to him. He is severely lacking in impulse control - it's entertaining at times, but could prove dangerous and has proven to be detrimental to his administration.

I'd think he's unable to resist, especially when someone attacks him, because he's thin skinned, though that's the only evidence I have.

And yeah he can be entertaining - I follow him on twitter in part for the entertainment value - but he seems to spend much more time picking fights on twitter and worrying about his image than he does running the country.

Yep, he's hittin nerves all over the place which is why Trump wants to divert our attention to anything else to keep his face in the headlines. His mouth fight with Rosie O'Kim is just another example. Meanwhile his personal swamp is dropping like flies.
