My wife said 18 months ago it was Trump's tax returns [W:56]

Re: My wife said 18 months ago it was Trump's tax returns

The IRS looks for folks that try to hide income. They don't look for conflicts of interest. But don't worry, Mueller will.
I'm not worried about Mueller one way or the other, so not sure why you thought it was important to include that.

Bribery is a crime, not a conflict of interest. If there was evidence bribery in his returns, it's odd that the IRS didnt take action.

Re: My wife said 18 months ago it was Trump's tax returns

And one of them took down John Gotti and Vinny the Chin. Heavy hitters against organized crime and mobsters.

How far will they dig, and will Trump blink, and have Mueller fired. The case for obstruction is strong just going off what is in the public record.

Re: My wife said 18 months ago it was Trump's tax returns

Really. And what is it you think is hidden in these returns that are going to do him in?

I don't know. BUT THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING DAMMIT!!!! :2mad:

So you think the IRS can uncover bribery? I'm not an IRS accountant but I don't think Trump's accountants would write in one of Trump's supporting schedules - "this income is a bribe". But you must be a tax accountant, so I'm not going to argue with you. Congrats - you win.

No, not an accountant, bit I don't underestimate the resources the IRS has available to it.

Why won't he release them then?
Better, why would he be worried about Mueller looking at them, when Mueller is prohibited from making any of public?

The answer is, WE have no idea why Trump is acting like the most guilty political fool in American history. We had to hire a special prosecutor to find that out.

Because they are his returns, not yours.

Re: My wife said 18 months ago it was Trump's tax returns

Trump will make a deal and resign before his returns are turned over to the DOJ. He knows they'll be the death of him or else they'd already be public record.

My gut is he will stand and face impeachment and prevail.

Muller is probably timing it for right before the 2020 season.

He's supposed to be a public servant, a little transparency, like every other president that had nothing to hide, might be in order.

But that's OK, Mueller doesn't need to ask his permission if it comes up that he believes he needs them, and it's part of the reason why so many people have no trust in Trump.

Trust is a two way street, so far, Trump trusts no one but himself, it's a lonely corner he's painted himself into.

Like every other President? That's not correct.

There is no requirement for any public servant to release their tax returns.

Who claimed there was a requirement? Don't misrepresent people's posts, it's sloppy, I expect that of certain posters, I hope not to have to add you to the dunce cap list.

Of course, it's customary for both presidents and some running for office to be transparent and make them available to the public, since the 1970s. It's quite a big list, except for Trump of course.
Tax History Project -- Presidential Tax Returns

Trump first claimed he would release them after being audited. Total bull**** like everything out of his mouth. But the question remains. What does he have to hide? With all of Trump's business dealings, it's more important than ever. To some. Why threaten Mueller about looking into his finances? Trump is either stupid as a rock, or frantic and trying to hide something. A lose/lose situation for Trump supporters.

Re: My wife said 18 months ago it was Trump's tax returns

Why did you bring your wife into it by putting her in the title? I didn't put her there, so it is your tactic that I'm trying to understand.
Her observation is accurate, and your deflection is noted. That you willfully won't understand that her observation is right on is what upsets you. lol

After Trump's are revealed, and they will be, Moon, assuredly as your arguments will set in defeat, all politicians will release their tax returns.

It serves no purpose to release the tax returns. "To some" is a good sized disclaimer. "To most" getting the country on track is more important.

What conflicts of interest do you expect to be found?

Deflection? I don't care about the topic, or quite frankly, your wife. If she wants to post here, then so be it, but it was you who made her the subject of the thread. What's next, are you going to bring the family pet into your posts? How about your hair stylist, they clearly must have a prediction you want to share.

Re: My wife said 18 months ago it was Trump's tax returns

Wives are usually right and when they are not, don't dare remind her of it.

Many husbands have learned that the hard way.

Re: My wife said 18 months ago it was Trump's tax returns

Trump will make a deal and resign before his returns are turned over to the DOJ. He knows they'll be the death of him or else they'd already be public record.

Which is why people were idiots to vote for him after he refused to release them.

Re: My wife said 18 months ago it was Trump's tax returns

I'm not an accountant but IMO as long as he paid his taxes the IRS wouldn't dig deep into them. UNLESS they were asked to, but this is Donald Trump were talking about, who does business in NYC, where anyone in Real Estate has to do some shady dealings. So I'm pretty sure, in the past, NY State, the Feds etc. probably just looked the other way, until now.

Sometimes Trump's either not very smart or he thinks he invincible. For him know some of his business dealings were shady but then to 1) run for prez and then 2) sit down and break bread with the Russians to get dirt on Hillary was amazing dumb. It put the spotlight on him, his businesses, his family, HIS TAXES that will NOW be gone over with a fine toothed comb.

They way he's running his Admin it's obvious he knows nothing about politics, so maybe he never realized the scrutiny would be this intense.

Re: My wife said 18 months ago it was Trump's tax returns

Is there a line item on a tax return for foreign bribery expenses? Or is it a separate schedule?

It's been colloquially called the "Clinton Foundation Addendum" among CPAs.
