Why did all these Police Officers turn their back during Mayor De Blasio's speech?

Re: Why did all these Police Officers turn their back during Mayor De Blasio's speech

Deblasio had his name legally changed to appeal to Italian voters.

Re: Why did all these Police Officers turn their back during Mayor De Blasio's speech

The NYPD has an agenda, just like DiBlasio does, just like anyone else does.

The NYPD (as a pretty strong political body with a very powerful union) acts as if it is beyond reproach. It is often at odds with the mayor's office. If the mayor doesn't march in lockstep with the NYPD, that mayor is often publicly disrespected by the NYPD.

It's pretty cheese of them to politicize the funeral of a fallen officer, but I can't say it's surprising.

Typical Democrap response, circling the wagons to defend a scumbag like Wilhelm "de" Blowhard.

I see that at no point did you actually address or attempt to refute anything I said. 0/10. See me after class.

Hundreds of New York Police Officers turn their backs on Mayor De Blasio: https://bluelivesmatter.blue/back-mayor-de-blasio-officer-miosotis-familias-funeral/
Could the reason be that the NYPD does not think that Mayor De Blasio has their backs?

Cops hide behind their blue wall and attack anyone who tries to hold them accountable to the law and for their actions. You can make a mortal enemy out of the police union simply by stating that they should wear body cameras or be responsible for the unjustified killings of innocent people. That they'd politicize a funeral of one of their own is rather pathetic but also not at all surprising.

Thank you for posting something other than a facebook link.

Regardless of the reasons for the NYPD actions, it's quite sad to politicize a funeral. They should be paying their respects to the family & remembering their fallen comrade. If they think Mayor De Blasio's policies are responsible for the death of their comrades, they should bring up the issue & protest. Just not at the funeral.

But that's only my opinion and I fully support their right to protest whenever they damn please (as long as no one is put in danger of course).

What you said was not worthy of debate. I thought I made that quite clear.

Maybe you're in the wrong class. Perhaps you could benefit from some continuing education in remedial English?

Wilhelm "de" Blowhard was in Europe during the funeral.

Do try to keep up.

Re: Why did all these Police Officers turn their back during Mayor De Blasio's speech

Hope most of you never need a cop.

De Blasio went to a protest in Germany instead of attending the vigil for Officer Miosotis, who was murdered sitting in her patrol car. It has nothing to do with what any of you said. (except Ballantine)
He deserves to be shunned.

What ? Bill de Blasio was in Europe during the funeral ? I guess a hologram spoke at the funeral and all these stories are FAKE NEWS :

Hundreds of NYPD officers turn their back on de Blasio as he speaks at funeral for executed cop before her three kids give heartbreaking eulogy

Bill de Blasio mourns murdered officer and says NYPD 'needs our support'

Thousands mourn fallen New York police officer

Do try to keep up.

Seems it was only a short time ago De Blasio wouldn't step up to the plate when the cops caught all the flack for enforcing De Blasio's stupid "loosies" policy. Garner ended up dead because De Blasio was pissed off about losing a few dollars in tax revenues.

Then add in a choke hold.........

Whether de Blasio should have done whatever is irrelevant. A funeral is an inappropriate place for political protest.

Liberals no longer define PC.

Go directly to jail. Do not collect 200 dollars.

i do appreciate where you are coming from

but as i recall, Obama was a featured funeral speaker after the charleston (Mother Emmanuel) church killings

and that appeared to be a political protest against such murders

which then tells us political protest at funerals is acceptable, if the issues being protested are found acceptable

Re: Why did all these Police Officers turn their back during Mayor De Blasio's speech

To exploit a funeral for politics?

The NYPD has an agenda, just like DiBlasio does, just like anyone else does.

Cops politicize a funeral: who would do such a thing?

Obama politicized several funerals: what a courageous fighter for the people.

Obviously a completely analogous sitch

The "loosies policy" is a state law, not a city one. But of course, that law is not what killed Eric Garner. Lousy cops being lousy cops is what killed Eric Garner.

Re: Why did all these Police Officers turn their back during Mayor De Blasio's speech

Obviously a completely analogous sitch

if Obama was present because he was a friend/associate of the deceased, then he would not have been present in his political capacity and i will rescind my prior post
however, if he was not someone who would normally have attended that funeral if the deceased had died of natural causes, then my point stands. his presence was to make a political statement

I had a different rebuttal in mind when selecting the quotes to respond to. I thought I deselected them before vomiting into the thread. My apologies, and a retraction.

No he does not.

New York cops have been racked with corruption for years.

They have no business crying about other folks.

Screw them.

Are you always so caustic in your replies? Or is it personal? Did you ever live in NYC. I would love for the NYPD, every one of them, to take a week off at the same time. We'll see how all the cop haters do without them.
