Fake "scandalous" Session meetings with Russian operatives.

No, he answer in the context of what the questions where being asked and that was with regard to the Trump campaign, not as his normal duties as a Senator where one of the supposed "meetings" was actually facilitated by Obama.

Yet, you trust deep cover operators who willingly put American lives at risk in order to leak extremely sensitive capabilities and documents. Operators who face extreme penalties to do so, perhaps even prosecution for treason. Operators who would have to be paid and assured an apparatus was in place to protect them.

And that is who you place trust in. People nobody even knows where they came from, or what country they pledge allegiance to.

I've seen blind ideological subservience, but to be blind to the bigger picture is remarkable.

I don't have a problem with Sessions recusing himself as it is not appropriate for the accused to investigate themselves--something the Obama Administration did all the time. But I agree with you he did absolutely nothing wrong and the whole issue is a deliberate and engineered witch hunt by anti-American Democrats and some permanent political class Republicans who will see this country destroyed rather than risk seeing the Trump Administration accomplish anything good for the country.

And yes we should ignore the hateful and destructive Democrats AND the vindictive Republicans, include the reasonable ones in discussions and and get the job done.

he voted to convict Clinton for doing the same thing. well, sort of. Clinton was lying about a blow job. Sessions was lying about contact with a foreign power which was trying to tilt a presidential election. is it possible that he forgot? possible, but pretty unlikely.

We'll see if there is a story, there was no story about flynn until there was.

No story about Sessions until he had to recuse himself.

No story about the 'ban' EO (which was called a ban until they decided to claim it isn't) until a 'so-called' judge said otherwise.

Lots of 'no stories' until the facts say otherwise...trump and his alternate fact groupies can say there is no story, the rest of us (to include fellow GOP politicians) seem to want to see if this does become something... :peace

I agree. Go directly to the source. Identify who hired the British MI6 agent to collect the "Golden Shower" dossier and the rest of the info that has been deemed false. This is the root of the Russian connection. The fact that the buyer may have been a USA political operative needs to be addressed. Something's moving in the milk soup and it looks like a fly, don't ya' know?

The British press are reporting that the ex M16 agent is legit, and has a stellar reputation in his field. I do feel more confident that it may be fair with Sessions out of the loop. Donny should be careful what he asks for, who knows what a THOROUGH investigation may turn up. Hopefully the investigator will get to the bottom of all those Mass voters who were bussed (100 busses!!) up to NH to illegally vote. One of my all time favorite gems from the Liar in Chief.

I want to know "who hired him" or is he working for the British gov't and they were trying to influence a USA election, or did the Russians hire him to make Trump look bad, or did some Stateside Democrat or Democrat affiliated group hire him. That is the important question.

The reason I do have respect for Sessions is that he recused himself for the mere reason it involved him. - that's a hell of a lot more than Loretta Lynch did. So in my book, he is absolutely a stand up guy. Open and honest and outward. Not like the Obama's of the world who fly stuff to our enemies in the dark of night, or the DOJ Lynch who meets in secret on a tarmac somewhere the husband of someone she was supposed to be investigating or Clinton who has more scandals surrounding her name then the Kardashians.

The only thing that smacks here is the continued bull *&(*)(*&98 that the Democrats keep doing to stop the government from moving forward.

Or... not.

Sessions shaking hands with Kislyak at the Republican Convention was not a big deal. Meeting with him in his office -- a meeting that Sessions cannot verify did not discuss the election -- is a little more serious, but not illegal.

The idea that Sessions could metaphorically switch hats in a discussion is slightly ridiculous.

The bigger issues are:

1) Sessions was involved in the campaign. If investigations start or are looking at the campaign, he should absolutely recuse himself from those campaigns.

2) Sessions lied about meeting Kislyak.

3) Sessions presents himself as a "letter of the law" guy. The idea that he should get slack for lying to Congress? Hard pass.

4) As per usual, the cover-up is probably worse than the original offense.

Yeah, the real world doesn't work that way. Sessions needs credibility and support to do his job, and he won't get it by unilaterally declaring that he can investigate the campaign he worked on.

Plus, just keep in mind that when you start breaking norms like this, you open the door for your political rivals to do the same.
 
I guess it's because your post is dated 3/4/2017 that you don't seem to be aware that Jeff Sessions recused himself because he now admits meetings that perhaps he shouldn't have had. Do you have more recent information? I've been a bit preoccupied and maybe I've missed something. Did a google search and nothing reveals anything of which you are speeking about.
Can you provide links to assist my search.
