Donald Trump just won a key endorsement going into Tuesday’s Florida primary: the state’s attorney general, Pam Bondi.But her bigger favor to Trump may have been her decision in 2013 not to pursue an investigation of Trump’s for-profit education chain after he made a big donation to her re-election campaign.
As Scott Maxwell of the Orlando Sentinel reported at the time, Bondi announced in September 2013 that her office was reviewing a series of complaints related to the Trump Institute of Boca Raton, a for-profit education company that is no longer in operation. Three days after the report that Bondi was considering joining other states’ attorneys general in taking action against Trump’s for-profit education chain, the real estate mogul dumped $25,000 into a committee organized for Bondi’s re-election.
Bondi ended up taking no action.
In numerous Republican presidential debates, Trump has explained that he donates big to politicians to buy influence. In one, he explained that he “supported Democrats, and I’ve supported Republicans. And as a businessman, I owed that to my company, to my family, to my workers, to everybody to get along.”

Trump boasts about buying influence in politics, Bondi's endorsement makes the case that he's right. Trump literally brags about bribing people in politics and his good little supporters cheer right along with him.

Yes it looks bad but you unless you have evidence that this was quid pro quo then this was not that unusual. Trump lives in part in Florida and it could be that he just likes her politics. Again, yes it looks bad but that's all it is at this time: bad optics not proof of corruption.

You do realize that videotaped confessions aren't the only type of evidence used in courts and/or by people to make decisions, yes?

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi ended weeks of silence Tuesday and defended her acceptance of a $25,000 campaign contribution from Donald Trump while her office reviewed a consumer complaint about Trump University's real estate seminars.

At a press conference at the Capitol, Bondi said she had no regrets about taking Trump's money because her office had "no investigation" when she sought the contribution in August of 2013.

"I just knew there was nothing improper," Bondi said. "I will never let money from anyone affect what I do. I'm proud of my office. I'm proud of the work that we do." ……….


………….Bondi has repeatedly ignored requests that she explain how her office handled the Trump controversy. She said Tuesday her only regret was not meeting with reporters earlier to discuss an array of Trump-related documents released by her office that lay out the Trump U. chronology.........................

And it is a one of the standard excuse/assertion statements Bondi has adopted from Trump……….TRUST ME!! ……..
Of course there would be no investigation after you got the money from Trump. What a stupid excuse she has!!...........
Unfortunately this is Florida where all Republicans always walk away as if nothing ever happened…..
