Well, I didn't predict Murder Hornets

Anyway.... I definitely didn't predict 2020's events, but I am not even the tiniest bit surprised at Trump's rank ineptitude, and how this year's events put his unfitness for office on full display.

I'd also say that Trump hasn't been AWOL in the normal sense of the term; he's kept a high public profile. Rather, he constantly whips back and forth between demanding total power and obedience, and shoving responsibility and blame onto others.

He also specializes in whipping people into a frenzy and creating divisions, and has no capacity (or interest really) in trying to calm people down, offering to listen to protesters, and bringing the nation together. And of course, he has no interest in acknowledging, let alone addressing, the structural racism that is causing nationwide riots.

The reason he might seem AWOL on the protests is because his big speech announcing a COVID-19 emergency was an unmitigated disaster, and his advisors -- oh, sorry, his nepotistic son-in-law Jared -- doesn't want a repeat.

With the right people in charge maybe the communists will love us again, the way they used to before they gave us the pandemic to teach us a good lesson .

He could not call for the killing of people who are expressing anger towards a situation.
How is calling for killing of people in your country a positive action?

Trump recently stated that the military would not be getting involved. I suspect that that is straight from the mouths of the joint chiefs of staff.
