I'm wondering how people feel about the attitude that for the last 30+ has been, "it's not your fault" "it's not your responsibility" "everyone else owes you" "the government owes you" has effected the overall attitude of the country. And why "work hard, follow the rules, get an education, don't run with the wrong people" has become a bad thing?

The entitlement mentality has become a bit over-board I think.

Eventually the people will learn and regret believing that the other dumb humans in "the government" are Gods who can "fix" all their problems.

They are NOT and they only make problems worse and create NEW problems... making us ever more dependent on them... never ends well this.

Not to sound like a cliche but it really is a 1st World Problem to have things so good that when something inconvenient does happen, it seems like a disaster. Living in a country as well off as America makes it easy to forget that life really isn't fair all the time and that there are still difficulties to overcome. The relative wealth and comfort of modern life tends to cushion us and make us forget that we still need to put in the effort to make something of ourselves.

The left completely rejects the very idea of personal responsibility, and the origin of it goes back to the nature vs nurture debate, which they lost a long time ago, but they still believe that you are 100% a product of your environment, therefore nothing is your fault. This is why they support socialism over capitalism - they believe a capitalist society causes people to be greedy and that a socialist economy will cause people to be selfless. This has been shown to be false more times than I can count. This lady demonstrates the leftist view perfectly:

Aside from promoting class warfare, race warfare, gender warfare, political correctness, government dependence, socialized bailouts, socialized bail-ins, addiction, unwanted pregnancies, child neglect, elder neglect, anarchism, sexual disease, NIMBYism, victim mentality, racism of low expectations, tens of trillions of dollar in debt, hundreds of trillions of dollars in unfunded liabilities, hypocrisy, histrionics, safe spaces, overconsumption, hopelessness, rage, vindictiveness, contempt for public institutions, misanthropy, and a malcontented, perpetually offended, sue-happy citizenry... I think it's great.

I'm wondering ... why "work hard, follow the rules, get an education, don't run with the wrong people" has become a bad thing?
Um... Because America (Western society, more generally) has given itself over to an attitude of no responsibility.

It's in the thread title.

Yeah what is it with the "too big to fail crowd"?

That's a real newscast. facepalm.gif

Be fair, though: How many leftists would agree with the woman's statements? I'd bet fewer than 20%.

You should put it to a poll. I'm curious what the results would be.

Well, the latter has proven to be less and less an effective life path.

Because Taxes are so high. It merely should require a few simple Commandments from any God not the Expense of the socialism of Government on Earth.

We are simply not moral enough for free under our form of Capitalism to achieve a Commune of Heaven on Earth.
