Why are democrats so adamant about Trump disclosing his financial records?

Seriously; what's the big deal?!

Seriously; what's the big deal?!

This is even crazier!

Just showing his tax records to prove everybody wrong(Human nature)!

For many years, only Russian banks that want money laundered have been willing to loan to Trump.

No one has to prove their innocence. :doh

Why do you presume either guilt, or that you NEED to know what Trump's financials were...when he has been audited many, many times in the past. Ex-IRS agent: 'Very unusual' that Trump has been audited for 12 years | TheHill

We already know about things like "Trump University," and other Trump products that failed miserably even before his election.

He was principally in the real estate business, as well as many successful and failed side businesses. IMO he probably doesn't want to reveal that his "billionaire" status is no "liquid," but tied up in unliquidated real estate value.

I just don't see why people think he needs to prove anything by showing his income tax records. Prurient interest, nosiness?

But, it's just human nature to want to do so(wink)

When you consider that presidential candidates in the past have released their tax records, a better question is why won't Trump?

But yeah, we'd like to know how in the bag he is for Russia.

He said numerous times he would release his taxes. He’s a fraud in more ways than one.

Really?

I'm fairly sure everyone, including YOU, have "changed your mind" about something on occasion. :coffeepap:

When his audit was over. Any evidence it is over?

I'm all for transparency.... So Senators and Congress persons should all do the same and explain how they become multimillionaires while supposedly in the service of the People. How did Pelosi and hubby amass more than $200 million? Where did all those millions the Biden's have amassed go? How is Kerry and family amassing all those millions. That also goes for Feinstein. Schumer and his sequestered millions offshore... Then there's Harry Reid. Corruption and insider trading is the answer....

Joe Biden Was Broke In 2017 — Now He’s RICH: Where Did The Millions Suddenly Appear From?
Joe Biden Was Broke In 2017 — Now He’s RICH: Where Did The Millions Suddenly Appear From?
As the Burisma and China banking scams are unearthed, we're lead to believe this was all done to help the Biden's son, Hunter. Somehow, Joe Biden used his political influence to set up his coke-snorting, womanizing, ne'er do well son with a large fortune, while he and the missus were sweating out paying the gas bill. Get real!
“When Biden ended his term as vice president in January 2017, he filed another financial disclosure form, listing assets and liabilities worth somewhere between negative $897,000 and positive $489,000”. In other words, the Biden's were underwater. Then a miracle happened. The floodgates opened and money came pouring in. Again from this Forbes 2019 article: “But over the next 23 months, the Bidens earned more than $15 million, according to tax filings.”

What exactly on a tax return would tell you that? Have you ever seen a tax return? No where that I can think of would it show whether or not he is "in the bag" of Russia.

Try to keep up we are now onto the Ukraine CT.

They want to get something on him.
So what else is new?
Here's where it stands now. Looks like in March of this year we'll have the SC's decision as to whether Trump will have to release his taxes.

Trump then appealed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, which heard oral argument on July 12, 2019, and then issued a ruling against Trump on October 11, 2019. In its 2–1 ruling, the court of appeals upheld the lower court's ruling, holding that "contrary to the President's arguments, the Committee possesses authority under both the House Rules and the Constitution to issue the subpoena" for eight years of tax returns to Mazars, and that Mazars therefore "must comply" with the subpoena.[18][19] The 66-page majority opinion was written by Judge David S. Tatel, joined by Patricia A. Millett; Judge Neomi Rao, a Trump appointee, dissented.[18] Trump's motion for rehearing en banc (i.e., before the entire D.C. Circuit) was denied on November 13, 2019, on an 8–3 vote.[98][99] The ruling was the second appeals court decision within ten days against Trump regarding release of his tax returns.[98]

Trump subsequently filed a petition for a writ of certiorari to the Supreme Court of the United States, asking the Court to review the case. On December 13, 2019, the Supreme Court decided to review both the Trump v. Mazars US, LLP case (Supreme Court No. 19-715) and the Trump v. Deutsche Bank AG case (Supreme Court number 19-760). The court consolidated both cases and indicated that the cases would be set for oral argument sometime in the March 2020 argument session.[100][101] The Second Circuit's mandate was stayed pending the Supreme Court's decision in the case.[101][102] The Court's decision in the case is believed to be a likely landmark ruling on how far presidents may resist subpoenas or other demands for information from the Congress and from prosecutors.[100]

Looking for dirt.

I think some people still hold out hope
that if they can show Trump is lying about one more thing or
that if they can show Trump is lying about some particular thing
it will cause Trump's supporters to see Trump as a conman.

It seems likely Trump has some bull**** in his financials.

Some people hold out hope that demonstrating Trump's money is funny might change some minds.
But,
I doubt that Trump supporters'd give a **** even if Trump were dirty af and stealing money from charities.

Also,
there's a case to be made that a country should know who its leaders are beholden to.
Democratic government requires informed participation to work.

In some imaginary, hypothetical worlds (worlds where Trump is not the PotUS)
the idea that a person in a position of power could be deeply beholden to a foreign power through financial obligations
could be cause for concern.

Not in the real world though. In our world, that's not a realistic, real-world concern.

I mean come on — Trump is the PotUS.
Trump could have all the debt in the world owed to foreign banks and still be his own man.
Trump character is impeccable.
He's not he kind of guy who'd chuck solemn vows on a whim or when it suits his personal interest. Is he?
It's not like he's a politician or something.
Right?

The real news is that all career politicians in DC are involved in amassing their own fortunes. What career blowhard Joe, randy Hunter, and the rest of the Biden family did was common in Washington DC today that drawing media attention to it might also expose untold political families who are doing the exact same things with regard to corruptly selling influence and access to government money. Why should we the American taxpayer allow this to happen? Have we gone that far that we have now made it a non-crime?

Just to let you know, you're doing a splendid job covering for Trump

Obviously Trump is dirty. He violates his oath by putting profit above patriotism. I've seen several Trump supporters on this forum admit to the same thing; all they care about is the economy and not the security of the nation or the long term interests of the nation.

By seeing Trump's financial records, this corruption would be revealed. While Hillary Clinton is as crooked as a barrel of fishhooks, she was smart enough to keep the dirt just on the bottom of her pant suits. Trump isn't as smart, which is why he's being impeached.

Anyone who has served our nation and held a security clearance knows that financial records are part of the background check since people heavily in debt or who have business interests with hostile powers are security risks. Elected officials are not subject to the same scrutiny....which is why Trump knew a bunch of secrets to tell the Russians during one of their WH visits but Jared Kushner was denied a security clearance...until Trump pushed the issue.

When it comes to national security every American should want the same thing: the best for our nation. This means ensuring that all of our elected officials are thoroughly vetted, clean and held accountable for their actions. This is regardless of party. I hope you feel the same as I do.

and what documents in his tax returns are going to SHOW us the said proof of this corruption

His financial ties with foreign interests which influence his foreign policy decisions.

Trump's behavior is erratic and concerning. Were he under my command, I wouldn't hesitate to pull his security clearance and have him investigated.

I don't expect any political partisans who support Trump, Hillary or anyone else to be persuaded. I do, however, expect sane, educated and intelligent adults to start asking questions of their leaders just like Americans always have.

If I had to guess, it would reveal that Trump is not as rich as he makes himself out to be. For the most part fronting isn't a crime.

if you cant do so, say that....and say you just have the same damn curiosity that others have and want to dig for dirt

And Trump wouldn't have lied if people didn't want to see the return. There's lots of information to be gained. In the end, it's just another campaign lie. It's not a mistake, a matter of context or an estimation gone wrong. It's a flat out lie.
