Doesn't he have a job to do?

How?? That's 1 Tweet every 8 minutes for 16 consecutive hours.

Saddest part - this is the guy the dems will give 4 more years! A man who can't put down the phone long enough to have a national security briefing but has time to tweet about the joke a magazine played with person of the year

Yeah, it's not as if anything important or special happened on Thursday, or, for that matter - the rest of the week.

Do you think the Republicans are at all responsible for Trump's presidency?

Are you claiming that the president was so bored on Thursday that he sent 123 tweets just to keep himself busy?

How could it have happened without deep failures in both parties? I'm just bitter round 2 is being handed over without a fight

The parties and the system itself. But I don't think it's fair to say that the Democrats gave Trump the presidency because it took Republicans to get that done too. As far as 2020 goes, they're putting up a fight. As good a fight as Democrats ever put up. I think it's still their election to lose, but I never underestimate the Democrats' ability to screw up even things that are in their favor.

Are you claiming you're so oblivious you have no knowledge of the events of the last week?

Unfortunately, there is no way to get deeper into this without repeating a hundred other debates on quality of current left candidates and how bad the senate impeachment can go, but I really do think we are screwed for 4 more years

As for republican responsibility - well, they screwed up a lot to end up with him winning the primaries and there are many other deep, deep problems in the party creating a systemic issue to get him as their head

No, I'm not. I'm reflecting your words back at you so you can consider how stupid they are.

That's not clear to me, nearly 11 months before the election. Even if it was, I might try to hold onto false hope for a few more months just to make life more pleasant for myself.

I would be all for a pleasant surprise, but I'm saddened by the choices of replacements too - swinging too far left is bad too imo - even if better than tweety the golfer

That's a big problem for the party. I feel like you do. When I say it, I get backlash from some Democrats who think the party should go as far left as possible right now because it has been too accommodating to Republican pressure for decades. That's a lot of ground to cover for a single candidate.

I understand why we need it, but the current primary system feeds this in a very big way - Choose the farthest out in your party and hope they swing back just enough to catch a few independents at general time

I think the primary system would be more effective if we had more than 2 viable parties.
