Members of the Federal Reserve Board are appointed by presidents. By 1929 Republican presidents had had eight years to appoint members.

It lasted for sixteen months and began when Reagan had been president for six months. Reagan owned that recession. It was engineered in order to intimidate employees from asking for raises. That is long standing Republican policy. It is why more jobs were created per year when Jimmy Carter was president than when Reagan was president.

Are you arguing that during the 1920's Republican presidents appointed liberals to the Federal Reserve Board, and that these "liberal soviets" were responsible for the deaths of 200 million people? Where do you get these ideas? Even Rush Limbaugh is not that delusional.

You must have gotten this question wrong on your high school American History test, but the Great Depression happened after the Republicans had controlled the United States for eight years.
