Who benefits from an investigation into the Bidens - not so fast!

Ok, let's get the elephant out of the room, yes, Trump could benefit IF corruption was found AND Biden survived the parade of state primaries and caucuses to win the Democratic nomination. It would be a hell of a warclub for Trump to wield during the election season.

So, case closed, end of discussion, turn out the lights, the party's over?

Well no, not so fast.
IF Biden were found to be corrupt, would that also benefit all the other Dem candidates? Given them that that same weapon to bludgeon him in every state, at every debate, interview and public appearance. To me, Biden's guilty would actually be of greater value to these guys than to Trump.

Finally, what if, all indications to the contrary, Joe and Hunter were found completely blameless and innocent. Would removing all doubt of corruption from his head be a boost to Biden?

No, and the way in which the Democratic candidates have handled this in the debates clearly shows that. They have all given full throated defenses of Biden. The investigation into Hillary didn't help anybody bug Trump and you know it.

She has been completely absolved of every accusation made by the right in this country for Decades. That did not stop them from repeating the same lie over and over until half the country believed it.
 
Trump didn't care about investigating the Biden's in as much as he cared that Zelensky give a public announcement that he was investigating them. It was the public announcement that he that wanted most because he could use that in his re-election campaign and turn the blame for interfering in the US election on Ukraine instead of Russia. It's a brilliant plan, actually...but it was created by a former KGB intelligence officer...so why wouldn't it be?

And there is no evidence, whatsoever, that Biden did anything illegal.

That is not an answer, Biden is not "the Obama admin". A predicate is the genesis, the initial crime or accusation, against Joe that triggers an investigation. Your potus has demand that Ukraine, China, et al, should investigate Joe....but no valid charge is mentioned. You can't claim the ouster of Shokin since even GOP leaders (along with the rest of the world) made that demand......and it doesn't apply to China.

Like I mentioned elsewhere, there never seemed to be a request for a physical investigation. It was about Zelensky making an announcement of one.

It's the same as Trump telling Mexico's president the wall was the least of his problem, he needed Mexico to verbally communicate the two presidents were working to get an agreement. Trump makes it clear anything else would make him look bad. All optics. Biggest crowds, thinking he's got great hearing, a stable genius and whatever other bs he spews. Con man tactics.

One things for sure, Trump burned his bridge for trying smear whoever does end up running against him.

Don't forget the son of the sitting Vice President gets a $50k job for a company whose business he has no experience and for which he never shows up. By the way, his daddy coerced Ukraine into cancelling an investigation into Hunter's employer. Nothing suspicious there, right?
