Lewandowski Hearing

The denifition of staff is what is in dispute but either way who cares if collins is staff or not. Why does it matter if he wuestioned corey or someone else does?

If the GOP win the House back they get to set the rules again. Until then.....

Apparently he is.

I hope Shaheen beats the **** out of him. I never in my life thought I was would vote for Jeanne Shaheen, but I'm doing it next year- especially if her opponent is that idiot Lewandowski.

He’s now an admitted liar, which currently makes him a Teapublican. He is also a confirmed perjurer.

I can see lots of split ballots in your state, with potus, Governor, Senator, Congressman, SD and HD, as well as local offices up in 2020 in the general.

It will also be interesting to see how GOP ‘operation chaos’ plays out in your state, with Indies and Teas pulling a Democratic ballot in the primary.

I'll be split on my ballot. I'm going to vote for Sununu again (he's doing a great job and he isn't a Trump sycophant). I'll probably vote for Shaheen - and I will for sure if the GOP puts up Lewandowski. I'm likely going to vote for Pappas, who is our Freshman Democratic Congressional rep, especially if the GOP runs a Trump sycophant.

Yeah, OK, I just don't see how this matters to anything. The committee chair with the majority make the rules. It's well known that's how it works in the House where the committee chair is like a little dictator, and the minority has no input. We saw this repeatedly when the GOP held the reins. Nothing has changed. Here the GOP could have appointed their own person to question Corey, and didn't. That's their problem, if it's a problem.

They could of if they had known it was allowed which is the problem. The majority party gets to make the rules that both sides have to adhere to. Now to be fair i dont know if the democrats broke the rules, if there was a legitimate missunderstanding of them, or maybe the gop was putting on a noisy show. It could of been sny of thise things.

Ultimately if the dems did break the rules i think they either decided to bring this guy in after they passed them or tbey honestly thought the rule covered him all along. Either way i think its a minor dispute but i think they should of made the minor concession back to allow Collins to question him afterward.

IMO, this is where our political body is falling down. Giving both sides the benefit of doubt that there was an honest missunderstanding of the rules thst took place. Why noy extend an olive branch across the aisle and both make minor concessions to the other in the spirit of trying to show some willingness for bipartisanship. It was a missed opprotunity to try to vool the temperature down a smidge.

A misunderstanding of the rules does not justify giving Collins 30 minutes more time than the other members of the committee. They could have chosen a staffer, but Collins made an ass of himself instead.

I finally got around to watching a small part of the hearing. I came in when that Dem from GA was trying to pin Lewandowski down on some nonsense. Lewandowski wasn't having any part of it. Then, when the next Congressman...a Rep...was leading Lewandowski to make a statement about the Dems, Lee got upset at "being called an idiot". Nadler shut her down. That made me laugh.

This is going to be another failure by Nadler, but of course it'll be spun by the media to try to make Lewandowsky...and Trump...look bad. The rest of the useful idiots...the public who won't watch the hearing...will believe whatever the media tells them.
I watched small parts of it yesterday and had to laugh at some of the assine questioned asked. Corey was in stride with his replies. He made fools of the Dems at every turn.

The clown show is live now. Nadler wasn't ready and is being mad a fool of by Lewandowski. Trump has got to be laughing his ass off.

I thought some of the televised hearing of the UK Parliament were embarrassing.......

Democrats better get their act together; the Republicans did their homework.

Edit: Like trying to nail JELLO to the wall.

Most of the Dems were clearly not ready for the childish antics of Lewandowski. Luckily, that lawyer made Corey look more foolish than anyone.

Oh my GOD!! Can obstruction of justice be any more evident? This is disgusting and Congressman Doug Collins is clearly a co-conspirator in all of this. What a travesty the GOP has made of our Constitution and judicial system. It's sickening to watch but I am watching, I can't turn away, it's like watching a fast moving train filled with people about to plunge off a bridge.

The abuse of power and obstructionism by Trump is right there in full view for the entire world to see......and, so what??
That's Bovine Scat. It's the Dems that have been obstructing justice. That has been from the start, beginning with Fast n furious right down to the present mockery of attempting to impeach a duly appointed president.

This whole idea of 'Executive Privilege' for someone who is and was never a part of the Executive staff is insane.

Corey Lewandowski on CNN today:

His child-like tactics of 'they lied so I can lie!' reeks of desperation.

Trump apoligists are always trying to pretend that documented evidence of their hero’s graft and incompetence is “nonsense”.

Lewendowski put on the clown show that Trump wanted to see. He lied, lied about lying, claimed “privilege” that he has no legal claim to, and generally refused to obey the law, even as he was admitting to being an accessory to obstruction of justice.

At one point, he was accused of “stonewalling”.

Stonewalling seems to excite the Trump base, just the way it did for the Nixon crowd.

The thing is that all the stonewalling that the Nixon team did did not keep Haldeman, Ehrlichman, Colson, et all out of jail.

They should have cuffed him and hauled his ass out of there and charged him with obstruction of Congress, and charged trump with the same thing!!!

I need to read a transcript of the above video.

CNN Host: "Corey, you have been very close to the president, you were part of the campaign..."

Lewandowski: "Allison, please stop being dishonest... Number one, I don't work for the Administration..."

:lamo Unfreaking-believable the level of hypocrisy and dishonesty this snake will go.

Fast and furious was a Bush program that Obama Inherited.

And currently we have no "duly elected" president, we have the first illegitimate president in American history...

This whole idea of 'Executive Privilege' for someone who is and was never a part of the Executive staff is insane.

And a perfect example of executive overreach and obstruction of Congress.

One more step towards impeachment...

I'm not sure but did those outside counsels question Kavanaugh or Blasey-Ford during the hearing?
Agreed to by both sides.

The services of individual consultants or organizations must be intermittent or temporary, not to exceed one year or the end of a Congress, whichever occurs first. A consultant must be selected jointly by the chair and ranking minority member of the committee needing such service. This committee then sends information on the qualifications of the consultant to the Committee on Rules and Administration. It is the responsibility of the Rules Committee to make certain that the consultant has unique qualifications for which the committee could not directly hire an employee, and the individual is not a current federal employee.

That's a full-faced lie, the Democrats have NEVER tried to subvert the rule of law and obstruct justice in any way. If you have proof, show it here and now.

Your president has completely turned this government upside down and is taking away the Constitutionally protected obligations and responsibilities of the U.S. Congress. This is a constitutional crisis in full view.

While I don't favor using an opinion piece to support something I suppose since you're strongly voicing yours here I offer the following:

Obstruction of justice is best defined in the omnibus clause under 18 U.S.C. § 1503, which provides that "whoever corruptly, by threats or force, by any threatening letter or communication, influences, obstructs, or impedes, or endeavors to influence, obstruct, or impede, the due administration of justice, shall be (guilty of an offense)." It is critical to note President Obama’s belief that Hillary Clinton “has not jeopardized America’s national security” was made public while the investigation into Clinton’s private email server was still underway.

If A President Is Going To Be Arrested For Obstruction Of Justice, It Should Be Obama

Allow me to add this from the same article:

When asked on CNN’s “State of the Union” about Loretta Lynch pressuring Comey into downplaying the Clinton investigation, Feinstein responded with the following: “I think we need to know more about that. And there’s only one way to know about it and that’s to have the Judiciary Committee take a look at that.” Feinstein (a democrat herself) sits on the Senate judiciary committee and seems to acknowledge just how serious this accusation toward the Obama administration really is.

My bad. I think I was responding to someone else's post and clicked yours by mistake.

Really? Why was Holder held in contempt?
Why do Dems want to change the electoral college, the 2nd amendment, stack scotus, extending the border wall, and establish sanctuary cities which violate immigration laws.

It's hard to take the impeachment hearings seriously when not one of the candidates in he last debate was asked a single question about it, nor did any of them reference it even once in any of their answers.

I'm talking literally zero times the word "impeach" was used in the entire 3 hours.

"wanting" and "doing" are two entirely different things. You know that.

Barnacle, didn't have time to review the thread last night when you pointed out I didn't answer your question in post #69. Having done so this morning I found this was the statement (made by HumblePi) I meant to respond to.

Nadler pointed to past instances where outside attorneys have been allowed to question witnesses at House Judiciary interviews, including during the previous session of Congress, when the committee was under Republican control.
Lewandowski Hearing

Just wanted to clear that up.
