Joe Biden Master Troll

I still maintain there is no way to successfully disparage a political opponent standing next to Trump on a debate stage. There's literally nothing that can be said disparagingly, that we already know Trump had done way worse.
Good luck with Trump & the GOP trying trying to take the "high road" tact! :lamo

Had a discussion a few months back on this. I was saying the same, that crucifying him on the debate stage seems so easy, I mean...you'd have too much good material, you'd have to limit it to just the big/easy ones. And by big, I mean more than thinking you have Native American heritage...felons, backing Putin in Helsinki, hiring your kids who failed security clearance...you know, matters of national importance..intentional stuff too. All he'd have is name-calling, it would be obvious.

But my wife laughed and said Trump will never go on a debate stage now that he's no longer able to hide behind the "no history to judge him on" part of his con. So I always wonder now, will Trump really ever get on a debate stage now, or will it be "I won't support that network, they were mean to me so screw them" cop-out because he knows he'd get juiced?

Yeah, but my belief is Biden's day was in 2016. Time to pass the torch, as I'm worried we are staring down the barrel of HRC 2.0.

That's who Elizabeth Warren is, only worse. Election results proved she is less likable in her own state and key Rust Belt states than Hilary Clinton. Another East Coast liberal. Every East Coast liberal the Democrats run have lost for over half a century. The more she talks - or more accurately is the ranting angry old white woman - the more unlikable people will realize she is. Everything about her is concocted and fake, so much so the lost how to actually do a real smile decades ago being so totally into herself as a fundamentally angry and egotistical desperate person.

Elizabeth Warren is HRC 2.0.

We shall see the front runners are all way too old for my tastes but better than Trump. My tix personally is Warren/Harris.

I gave Harris a chance but I always suspected her hard-noses prosecutor attitude wouldn't translate, and I feel that's still the case. I've warmed up to Warren. Warren seems to get the anti-corruption thing, and has the brains to fight that fight. And that's a top issue for me. I prefer Warren/Pete, but I know Pete lacks mass appeal for many, unfortunately.

We’re you able to see any of the Lewandowski fiasco?
Unfortunately, I've been busier than a whor .... uh ... well ... let's just say "really busy"!

But I did get to see some excerpts after the fact, and what I saw was abhorrent. The Dems need to move on contempt with Corey, and with these new whistle-blower revelations it seems clear to me the House is mandated to start an impeachment investigation in order to legally empower the investigation(s).

Warren scared everybody with her response to Trump a year ago. Since then, she's re-tooled her campaign and her messaging, and the results have been stratospheric. The idea that you have to focus on what you want to do almost to the exclusion of criticizing Trump is working for her, counter-intuitive as that may be for many people.
Yes, she really is proving her mettle and has turned me from a detractor to supporter. I believe she is perfect to go toe-to-toe with Trump. I now believe we need a hard fighting candidate that shows a sharp and radical difference to Trump, not a moderate that tries to woo Trump supporters. The latter is a fool's errand!

Of course, denying Trump's existence is only going to get her so far if she's the nominee, but as a Primary strategy it's reaping huge dividends.
Actually, I haven't really noticed.

And BTW, what was this "response to Trump from a year ago"?

And yes, the disintegration of many norms will help Democrat agendas in the long run. Of course, that just means that Republican agenda will also be easier to implement when they're in the majority again. The times of government moving at a glacial pace are over.[/QUOTE]Well, two things can occur in the Republican Party due to the country's changing demographics of increased diversity and a dying-off of old the Old/Religious/Caucasion/Conservative crowd:

1] The party will not change, and thereby will diminish in power & relevance.

2] The part will change, and become more moderate.

Either result is good for the country.

I am always glad when republicans leave the party and become democrats when they realize they cannot function constitutionally.

True to their long tradition of lying, Demokkkrats are pretending to be constitutional to primary republicans.

North Carolina Republican branded as Democratic plant sues GOP for benefits

The concept of fairness has eluded them completely.

Even rats know better.

I like Pete's long term vision for the country, but unfortunately many are only interested in partisan 2/4 year plans.

Exactly! But firstly, the Dems have got to quit being so politically correct and defensive of their shortcomings.

Trump has lowered the ethics bar to the basement. Yeah, Dems want to argue they're on running on the highroad; that's a ridiculously easy argument to make concerning Trump. So there's no need to place any doubt on their own shortcomings, by being apologetic for every little minor or Trumped-up claim (yeah, pin intended!). They only need to show a contrast. We need fighters, not saints!

Hmm. While your wife makes an interesting and novel point, I find it hard to believe Trump can pass on any opportunity to be in the spotlight on a focused national stage. In fact, I believe he thrives on this. I predict he'll gladly debate.

I used to very much think the bolded, Joko. But I've since changed my mind. Why? Because I don't think there's anything to be gained today from trying to pull votes from the middle. There's few crossovers left in America, these days.

Trump has thoroughly polarized the country. So I now believe the White House will be won by the party that can best motivate their own base. It's what Trump did in 2016, and it worked. So much so, that he's following the same tact for 2020. I believe the Dems will need to do the same, in order to prevail. And, I see Warren as perfect for the task. She excites Dems & liberals! Biden does not.
