Why the trump campaign won’t pay police bills

"Ten city governments from Arizona to Pennsylvania say the president’s political committee has stiffed them out of hundreds of thousands of dollars."

Why the Trump campaign won’t pay police bills – Center for Public Integrity

Should the Trump Campaign pay these bills?

Trump and those around him don't give a **** about any city budgets, and they certainly don't give a **** about the police. They should pay it but they likely won't unless shamed into it.

Reading is your friend.

Must Trump pay?

That depends on who you ask. The cities are adamant Trump should pay up. But in many of these cases, there are no signed contracts between the municipal governments and the Trump campaign. The cities dispatched police officers to secure Trump’s events because they believe public safety required it — and the U.S. Secret Service asked for it.

The Fraternal Order of Police, which endorsed Trump in 2016, has no formal position on whether presidential campaigns should pay municipalities’ bills for police protection, said Chuck Canterbury, the organization’s president. “That is the government’s responsibility in each local area,” he said.

So...no request for the service, except maybe by the Secret Service. No signed contracts. Yet those cities think the Trump campaign should be paying them. Perhaps they should send a bill to the federal government...or send the bill to Antifa when they try to disrupt the event, instead.

I don't blame the Trump campaign for ignoring the bills. I do the same when some guy jumps out at an intersection and washes my windshield.

I was one of the people who ran the first two WEEDSTOCKS we paid our bills to local law enforcement for the event.

However trump will egnore these bills until taken to court, then he will counter sue for 100times more than the bill and tie it up in court for years and the. Settle out of court.

It is his idea of doing business...

When will his lawyers ever learn that be rarely pays them as well???

Another total hypocrisy thread by a Democrat. This time it is to claim that Trump - ONLY Trump - has to pay for police for political events.

How much did President Obama or Hilary Clinton pay? How much has BLM or ANTIFA paid? When has any politician personally paid for police presence? Anyone? Ever?

Of course the President does not have to pay for police protection.

BTW... how much have you paid the police anytime you've called them for anything?

This is a TOTAL junk thread and more desperate TDS hypocrisy.

Bull****, it is part of the cost of running an event.
If you had read the article you would know O'Rourke paid his bills for one of the same cities that trump appeared in and as is his way egnore the bill.

You know why he eats at McDonald's?

When they insist you pay up front, he is not the only one...

A non sequitur from you comes as no surprise.

When dining out, servers don't take kindly to diners with your mind set.

This isn't a restaurant and you are not a server.

Get over it.

The "law and order" GOP.

Use em and then stiff em.

I read you loud and clear! Enjoy the benefits of service, then find a way to shortchange or stiff the service provider.
