As usual, you and others focus on the meaningless appearances that do or dont happen in order to get someone and make them look bad. Instead, there is a real issue, signified by memorial day, that is being ignored. That we have ongoing hostiles in 7 countries, and weve been in afghanistan for 18 years. Soldiers are still dying, innocent civilians are dying, and the media and partisans are ignoring it, focusing instead on the politics of an election that happened two years ago, in order to win the next election.

This is Trump and congresses fault who are directly put in charge of our military. And the peoples fault for being obsessed with political games instead of caring for their fellow citizens put in harms way.

Bullcrap. The second world war was necessary. All those other conflicts, you are correct, we sacrificed american lives for? To stop the spread of communism particularly named, russia and china and yet today the republican party seems all for putin being involved in our politics. What happened?

We didn't kill commies on the same scale that we killed nazis.
 
Here's what bothers me about Trump being in Japan, even if speaking to American troops in Japan...first, when Obama skipped Arlington, but still planned to attend a service near Chicago after visiting the oil spill on LA, the right was all abuzz with how Obama "hates" the military. But more to today, the problem I have is that....there was no need for Trump to go to Japan on Memorial Day.

These visits are planned out in advance, especially since the main point of this trip was to visit with the new Emperor as many foreign leaders would do. There are protocols to be hammered out and dates to be confirmed. In other words, Trump PLANNED NOT TO BE HERE. Also, what was not confirmed at those meetings was the placement of 7th Fleet. Operational security; no protocol officer is going to have that information. So, it's not like they PLANNED to visit US ships while there.

Look, I'll still give the guy a pass because almost every single president since the late 70's has least missed one date at Arlington. But let's call this what it is; Trump not really understanding or caring.
