Political commentator Justin Raimondo wrote to the LA Times:

"[TDS] sufferers speak a distinctive language consisting of hyperbole leading to a constant state of hysteria… the afflicted lose touch with reality."

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell:

"To call a public servant like the attorney general [Bill Barr] a liar is completely over the top. These people are somewhat suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome."

CNN's Chris Cillizza re-defines TDS to fit the left's agenda:

"The truth is that TDS is just the preferred nomenclature of Trump defenders who view those who oppose him and his policies as nothing more than blind hatred."

Calling Bill Barr a liar is over the top, but calling Comey and Muller something similar is not?

Derangement of McConnell is confirmed, just not sure of what type

It will not become acute until Trump wins in 2020!

No it is not real. It's gaslighting. It's pretending an idiot who spends all his time watching Fox and tweeting on the crapper can be president and calling him out is somehow the fault of those who noticed he is not up to the job. Just look at the gibberish he drools in his speeches:

"We’ll see what happens with Iran. If they do anything, it would be a very bad mistake,” he said. “If they do anything. I’m hearing little stories about Iran. If they do anything, they will suffer greatly. We’ll see what happens with Iran.”

"We'll see; I'm hearing stories." He's been saying that since his campaign Since his birther days. He says it because he doesn't know the answer, hasn't read the briefing. He hasn't given it any thought. He hasn't a plan, hasn't a clue and he doesn't care to learn. He's making it up as he goes along.

The real derangement is supporting him and his bigotry and idiocy, even after he's proven himself a liar and incompetent. The real derangement is blind support of this buffoon.

Trump surely brings out all the hysterics. If they were to believed, trains will pull up shortly to transport anyone non white to the ovens. I mean, with almost 63 mil NAZIS lurking about everywhere, it is no wonder.

Josef Stalin would be proud of the op.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell

I would definitely agree that Mitch McConnell has TDS. A really bad case of somebody who is deranged by Trump and has clearly lost his ability to reason and do his job. But to be fair to him, that also applies to the vast vast majority of Republicans in the Congress.

I'm not a Michael Savage fan as I find him too often really over the top in some of his theories, but he wrote a best seller some years ago titled Liberalism is a Mental Disorder. I have only seen some excerpts from it, but those laid out a good case for how some people are able to switch off logic, reason, common sense, and honesty in order to further a sociopolitical point of view. They argue talking points, propaganda, spin, and rationalization as if those are facts and come to believe them to the exclusion of what is actually real. This creates a kind of delusion that is akin to a mental disorder.

It seems that the blind hatred of President Trump creates the same sort of syndrome. I think some honestly mentally block out any evidence contrary to the themes they desperately want to be true just as we all resist seeing anything good in those we hate. But TDS seems to go a second and third mile into intellectual dishonesty to the point that they will use the most vile and hateful characterizations of the President and anybody who supports him.

Is that a mental condition? I don't know. But it sure mimics one.

Is "Trump Derangement Syndrome" a Real Mental Condition? | Psychology Today

It should be renamed to Left-Wing Derangement Syndrome, because Trump is not alone in this leftist madness. We witnessed the exact same insanity by the left after Bush won in 2000, and the exact same mental meltdown by the irrational left in 1968 after Nixon won the election. Only they used bombs in 1968, and it continued until 1972.

This is war.jpg

I have noticed, however, that there is a method to leftist madness. The violence and destruction of property only happen in Democrat-strongholds (a.k.a. "sh*tholes"), like Chicago, San Francisco, Detroit, Baltimore, St. Louis, New Orleans, DC, etc. You will never find ANTIFA, the Weather Underground, Black Lives Matters, or any of the leftist terrorist organizations outside of those aforementioned leftist sh*tholes.

So the good news is that when these leftists completely lose their minds and start attacking people and destroying property after they lose every election, they are hurting and destroying their own fellow leftists.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell:

"To call a public servant like the attorney general [Bill Barr] a liar is completely over the top. These people are somewhat suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome."

A Republican Congressmen literally shouted "liar!" at President Obama in the middle of his State of the Union Address. Of course under Obama we didn't refer to it as Obama Derangement Syndrome because there was a much simpler explanation for it. Racism.

With Trump, however, we have the facts to back it up. Donald Trump could literally be diagnosed as a compulsive liar. He lies about things he doesn't even need to just to see what he can get away with.

It isn't just Trump. Look at prior elections when Democrat lost, like 2000, 1980, 1968, etc. This is an on-going, generational, psychosis indicative only to the left.

Yep, he is not cool, calm and collected like Maxine Waters is.

It has been bad in the past. But I have never seen the degree of pure malicious, unmitigated, and retaliatory hate demonstrated in the most irrational manner as I have seen directed at this President and anybody who presumes to support him in any manner.

Yup. But the fact that Trump won in 2016 stuck in their craw so badly that the left have completely lost their marbles.

Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz suffer from it, too.

an accurate description of Trump supporters' affliction - TDS...Trump DEVOTION Syndrome

Trump Defense Sickness is far worse an affliction.

Trump Defense Sickness has led to many a person falsely accusing me of having TDS or aka Trump Derangement Syndrome.

I have no such syndrome, as Trump does not push me to any derangement.

However, that does not mean I am not completely opposed to his being president, that is not mental derangement, that is what a sane and rational person experiences who also loves America and wants the best for this country.

Of course TDS isn't a real mental disorder, but cognitive dissonance is real and very common. That's what people are referring to when they talk about TDS. And it does look to me like Trump haters are delusional at times.*

Of course, it goes both ways.

*TDS Delusions IMHO, some still active:
Fine people hoax.
Russian collusion.
Trump is a racist.
Trump is a Nazi.
Trump is sexist.
Trump is <insert derogatory term here>
White House in chaos.
Economy's is in a tail spin.
Tax cuts only benefit the rich.
The only new jobs are part time and low pay.
There's no crisis at the border.
And so on.

Everything you just said, are things you do with reckless abandon.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell:

No Mitch McTurtle: TDS is actually "Tiny Dick Syndrome". According to Stormy, Donald Trump exhibits this disorder.

Yes, some people were deranged before Trump cam along

However, that does not mean I am not completely opposed to his being president, that is not mental derangement, that is what a sane and rational person experiences who also loves America and wants the best for this country.

Opposing Trump isnt the derangement. The derangement results from surrendering to a bottomless pit of anger and rage. It is opposing things you have supported because Trump supports them. It is a willingness to believe any story, any accusation, any rumor that casts Trump in a bad light. It is calling him Hitler and comparing everything he does to fascism and Nazi Germany. It is a derangement that will not be satisfied by political victory over the man, but until he, his family, his business his name and anyone who supports his is destroyed. Oh there is a derangement out there and to find it, all you have to do is read through threads here at DP. The examples are endless.
