Attorney General Bill Barr defended President Trump's national emergency declaration as legal during a veto ceremony in the Oval Office today.

Barr said the measure was “clearly authorized under the law” after Congress voted to reverse it.

Barr said the southern border situation was precisely the type of situation that would warrant a national emergency.

    Vetos aren’t signed.

The bill is sent back to Congress unsigned.

    Not much to televise.
Many Trump supporters have lots of problems, and those deplorables are bringing those problems to us. They’re racists. They’re misogynists. They’re islamophobic. They're xenophobes and homophobes. And some, I assume, are good people.

He probably didn't understand so somebody whipped up something for him to sign so he wouldn't look like an idiot.

Thank you for sharing this. Appreciate you taking the time to find it and put it in the thread.

As horrifically painful as it is to watch him disregard the constitution he is sworn to uphold in the highest office in the world, at least we have documentation. His spewing numbers and claiming crazy all day long doesn't change the disgusting act.

Sad thing is, I would actually support the wall. Not fight for it, but vote for it. This isn't about that. It's about separation of powers.

I’d say with the competence of this administration, he may just have signed it instead of vetoed it..

Pocket vetos happen when it's not signed. Otherwise it's both stamped and signed as vetoed by Pres. X. Two different things.

There is a stamp and signature for a veto (other than pocket veto), but I still chuckled at this idea.

The US Attorney General clearly disagrees with you.

Your only hope is that the SCt doesn't agree with him.
