Again, not what I asked. You’re expanding the scope of the question in order to espouse a philosophy rather than have a discussion. In one case you made the person 17, then you gave him a wife, then a senior citizen. You did all of this and failed to answer the question.
But let’s answer your objection:
I grew up in Missouri, when I was 13 I started working part time. Missouri had a minimum wage, but they also had a student wage which was lower. I see no reason that can’t be applied again.
And you are purposely trying to cherry pick a question in a narrow range to suit your agenda. You asked a question. I answered it. You just refuse to accept my answer unless I give you the answer you want. The question was asked and answered. Not everyone needs a living wage. If the janitor needs to earn $11 per hour then he needs to find a job that pays $11 per hour. Everyone has signs out looking for work. If he's worth $11 per hour then he can find a job for $11 per hour. This is a worker's market. You can't argue that it is an employer's market and that circumstances force him to accept the $10 per hour job. And, if the living wage in that area is $11 per hour and he has a spouse earning money then he himself doesn't need to earn $11 per hour for him and his spouse to be earning enough to live in that area. Even if both he and his spouse only earn $7.25 per hour each, full time, that is still $3.50 per hour over the living wage in that area between the two of them.
