2020: Most Diverse Democrats Ever

I'm not here to defend the Repubs. I left the party long ago. But that doesn't mean I have to accept Dem virtue signaling as the truth either.

There's a lot of that yes, but voting in a diverse array of candidates is hardly 'virtue signalling'. People vote for their wants and needs as well and the new makeup of congress is beginning to reflect that. Holding up one party's lone African American senator and saying, 'Look, we got one too,' now that's virtue signalling.

No. It was a specific response to a specific post.

There is not "voting in" of candidates. All you need to be a candidate is to declare they are a candidate.

It remains to be seen if the Democrat primary will actually be open. I think we will enter 2020 much like we did 2016... some DNC anointed candidate and a bunch of pissed off Bernie Sanders fans.

I meant voting candidates into office. This congress saw a record number of minority candidates become representatives.

As for the primary, yes, we'll wait and see if the DNC leaves a truly open field or try o skew it again.

Here are my very basic thoughts on the 2020 race so far.

  • Elizabeth Warren- older woman adapting Bernie Sanders talking points/ Holding Trump accountable
  • Kirsten Gillibrand- Middle age woman, NY Senator, working class platform
  • Sen. Cory Booker- single middle aged African American man, 420 platform, Is he still Spartacus?
  • Kamala Harris- African American Woman, biggest glass ceiling ever, prosecutor, most impressive media blitz/campaign speech so far.
  • Julián Castro- Latino male. Southwest. my dark horse candidate.
  • Tulsi Gabbard- Hawaiian. Hindu. But campaign is a mess
  • Pete Buttigieg- Married Gay Man. Youngest candidate. Message geared towards Millennials. Future leader of Democratic Party. VP/Whip?

-Fake Indian
-Pro-Open Borders New York elitist
-Loonball in bed with Big Pharma
-Person who sleeps her way to political positions
-Another Pro-Open Borders person
-Somewhat tolerable person
-No major political accomplishments

Not a very impressive list in my opinion.

I love how white folks parrot the MLK line when it suits them. By the way, did you know MLK recanted that speech? A year before he was murdered by white folks, he said that his dream had become "a nightmare". He realized that being nice to white folks, begging, pleading, groveling, doesn't work. He learned, the hard way, that Malcolm X was right.

So, you believe racism is OK? Eh?

As an ideal, being 'measured by the content of your character rather than the color of your skin' would seem to be a laudable goal in equality for all.

Set aside that fact that the US in its present state is the least racist, most 'equal opportunity for everyone' nation in the world's entire history.
So closer to the realization of that laudable goal than anywhere else on the planet.

Has the dream been completely realized? No. May never be. But the US is well along in the way there, and far further ahead than anyone else.

There's something to be impressed about with each candidate that has officially entered the race in 2020. Each candidate brings something new and different and fresh to the table. And most importantly, according to all the polls, each one can beat Trump.

But what astounds me is that there are NO old straight white guys in the race yet. And in fact, another crazy billionaire (Schultz) has made the other old white guys take notice in their own party that maybe this should be the make-up of the race. A makeup that more represents our country than a bunch of old white guys talking about things that are out of touch with the majority of Americans.

I'm really proud of the lineup at this point in time and would be very angry with the Republicans who don't even seem to want anybody to attempt to primary Trump.

Maybe Conservatives would be less angry if they joined our party???:peace

Diverse? They're all the same!

[1] Elizabeth Warren is a woman who is willing to say/do whatever is necessary to get whatever she wants, regardless of morals/ethics/etc... Lying about being Native American is but one of numerous examples... She is also a Marxist... I wouldn't even cast 1/1024th of a vote for her ;)

[2] Kirsten Gillibrand is a woman who I don't know much of anything about, beyond her being a Marxist Senator from New York.

[3] Cory Booker is a man who thinks he is Spartacus, and is yet another Marxist... I can't figure out why people like him...

[4] Kamala Harris is a woman who strikes me as an annoying loudmouth, and is yet another Marxist.

[5] Julián Castro is a guy who I haven't even heard of... He means nothing to me. Wouldn't be surprised if he is yet another Marxist running for President though...

[6] Tulsi Gabbard is a woman who I haven't even heard of... She means nothing to me. Wouldn't be surprised if she is yet another Marxist running for President though...

[7] Pete Buttigieg is a guy who I haven't even heard of... He means nothing to me. Wouldn't be surprised if he is yet another Marxist running for President though...

In short, the Dem field seems to have a lot of diversity regarding age/sex/orientation/etc..., but so did the 2016 Republican field, so whoopity doo... I don't give a rat's ass about that type of diversity anyway... What I care about is diversity of THOUGHT, and the Dem field (at least the ones you mentioned above) have little to NO diversity of thought... They are Marxists with the same ultimate agenda of turning America into an Oligarchy where THEY are the ruling class... I'll vote for Trump over that ANY day of the week...

There's something to be impressed about with each candidate that has officially entered the race in 2020. Each candidate brings something new and different and fresh to the table. And most importantly, according to all the polls, each one can beat Trump.
That they are Marxists? Nothing impressive there... Not very diverse if you ask me... Also, polls are meaningless...

But what astounds me is that there are NO old straight white guys in the race yet.
Ummmmmm, John Delaney (55yrs) and Bernie Sanders (77yrs) don't count???:confused:

And in fact, another crazy billionaire (Schultz) has made the other old white guys take notice in their own party that maybe this should be the make-up of the race. A makeup that more represents our country than a bunch of old white guys talking about things that are out of touch with the majority of Americans.
Bulverism. Bigotry. Ignored on sight as a result of that...

I'm really proud of the lineup at this point in time and would be very angry with the Republicans who don't even seem to want anybody to attempt to primary Trump.
I think there is very little diversity of thought in the Dem lineup, and there is no reason to primary Trump; He is doing a great job. If someone wants to primary him, then they can have at it.

Maybe Conservatives would be less angry if they joined our party???:peace
Bigotry.

I am a Conservative. I am very happy.

So what if they're diverse? Aren't you supposed to vote based on policy?

You would think. But apparently skin tone and location of reproductive organs are way more important then issues.

You're "really proud" of socialists? Liars like Elizabeth Warren, who claimed to be American Indian?
Proud of people because they aren't white, aren't male, aren't heterosexual? My but aren't YOU "tolerant" and "inclusive."
Except for white males who love women. Except for those.

Diversity is a miserable failure. People associate with their own kind. There are Chinatowns across the country, and Little Saigons everywhere. There are black enclaves and wealthy enclaves. Don't you realize that not everybody is the same? Can't you even figure THAT out?

Dems are missing the bus once again. Tulsi Gabbard is the stand out winner of the bunch, for these reasons-

- Her military service would resonate with independents and women who are looking for a genuine person over another professional politician in the mold of HRC. Harris, Warren, and Booker all smack of being lifelong politicians with no life outside of Wonkville.

- Gabbard is a real progressive on many issues, not a flip flopper.

- Gabbard quit her position as second in command of the DNC over HRC's takeover which screwed Bernie Sanders in 2016, giving her a potential in with the Bernie supporters. If you Dems miss the significance of this in favor of picking another HRC prototype, you're blowing a significant opportunity.

- Gabbard appears serious about changing course on the ME, which again is a progressive standpoint. Poll numbers show waning interest in endless wars and endless aid to support Israel.

- Gabbard comes across as tough enough to handle the job, but while also having a humane side as well. If you guys elect to toss her aside over the gay conversion thing (which a Republican candidate can't really use against her in the general election anyway) & her family's religion, then you're throwing away your best candidate over trivial matters.

That's my take as someone who won't be voting D in 2020, so take it for what it's worth.

Honestly people keep trashing on her, but I keep liking her. However her military service alone disqualifies her in
the eyes of most libs. They won't elect the very thing they love to hate.

The DNC appears to have operatives working for MSM companies like NBC, who are using the same playbook for defeating Tulsi Gabbard that they used against Trump postelection 2016:

-creating innuendos that seek to tie her to Putin
-seeking to tarnish her image by tying it to white supremacists she's never met
-questioning her loyalties to America, by insinuating she's working with foreign despots

Media is Lying About Russian Influence & Interference- is it Time to Investigate?

While currently demonizing Ilhan Omar for supposedly hinting at the dual loyalties of Jewish Americans, liberal journalists with Jewish surnames are questioning Tulsi's loyalties to America.

If you measure the Republican party in looks, it does not represent the demographics of the United States. The Democratic party does and white folks hate it with a passion.

So are you advising the Republican Party to tranform itself into 'the beautiful mosaic' of the new democratic congress that
appeared on the scene after the 2018 elections? Maybe recruit the likes of Omar, Tlieb & AOC. Socialists to the core!

What if the country goes the way the Democratic party is reeling towards a demographic bleak future tending to resemble
that of South America. Morales utilized democracy to dispose a European minority in Bolivia with the outcome being
ethnicity & democracy coming together to overcome the verdict of free markets. In Venezuela they bemoan the same outcome.

Why should the Republican Party be ashamed to represent the progeny of the men who founded built and defended America since the
founding, which you seem to be suggesting?

Diverse is just another way of saying fracturing the party.

If this is meaningful to you be ready for the politicians coming up in the next decade or two. It will almost entirely consist of people that were pretty heavily online when they were teens.

Yes, and . . . ?

You posted about Beto's online activity when he was a teenager without any comment. I replied to your post.

My post was an informational contribution to the subforum. I'm indifferent to Beto's candidacy.
