Trump is using Guns, Drugs and Border Patrol as Props

Something like that would signal to me that a person is interested in improving a bad situation. I wouldn't have just talked about border security without the others because in my opinion they should all be pursued simultaneously. My guess is even if Trump builds a wall, the rest will fall by the wayside and all we'll be left with is a wall we'll be maintaining forever while people will still find a way in. Then of course the border security does nothing to address the large percentage of people who arrive by other means and stay passed their allotted time.

I've said it before, NEITHER the Dems or the Reps, including Trump are really interested in TRUE border security and immigration reform.

South Texas leads in marijuana seizures inbetween the points of entry according to this border patrol guy; unfortunately he didn't specify other drugs.

I wish Trump had been able to show also what else is entering inbetween points of entry, like at that guy's section alone:

the day before Trump showed up, they apprehended over 400 illegals of which 133 were from countries like Pakistan, India, China, Ecuador, Romania, Nicaragua etc.

Yeah. I'm an idiot. You're right. Drug smugglers would NEVER hand over one of their loads to someone in law enforcement who might then get a little recognition and a promotion and more authority over what enforcement resources get allocated where. That would really be a stupid thing to do. I don't know what I was thinking. Thanks for straightening me out.

Well, the purpose of smuggling drugs across open sections of the border is so that you DON'T get caught.

I can GUARANTEE you that sending someone over, under or around the fence or across an open section with a bale of weed or a backpack full of meth is quite common. Send 10 kids with 20 pounds each and even if a BP vehicle is sitting right there 8 or 9 of them will get through to a drop point. It's MUCH better odds than going through a checkpoint and much cheaper.

You said people carrying bags of meth is quite common, so I would assume there are dozens of pictures of this happening.

and underground in the sections that have barriers; 170 or so have been discovered since the 90s. That doesn't mean we shouldn't do something to curb the supply and distribution, but we should have realistic expectations.

Democrats figure those who want border security are "anti-Latino". They figure that Latino voters hear calls for "border security" and interpret those as being anti latino. Opposing Border Security is nothing more than pandering to the Hispanic vote. And they realize if illegals somehow are able to vote, they will be lock step in sync with the DNC
