Kavanaugh Votes w/Liberals in Planned Parenthood Case

and liberals knew for a fact that Kavanaugh would side with...conservatives...and not the law. The law one, not liberals or conservatives.

Actually there was quite the debate in some circles regarding how conservative Kavanaugh was. But I'd say liberals won this one. They got to keep Planned Parenthood funded...Which to some is ultimately more important than being right.

No they are just trying desperately to make it look like somehow the left lost this one.... They obviously do not understand the implications of this ruling and what that does to their supposedly religious beliefs. They just think that the left likes Kavanaugh now. So somehow that's a win?

You were celebrating that he SIDED with liberals, threw in some nasty remarks to ensure the discussion will be a decent one.

Keep telling yourself that, but the law says lots of things that libertarians and conservatives are not supposed to like. Things like funding planned parenthood. So let's not go there unless you want me to pick apart every belief in the supposedly big government policies the conservatives claim to hate.

No because he was and still is a douche bag king frat boy who has no place being on the SCOTUS. This vote is about as liberal as you can get and goes directly against the conservative base and yet you are all defending it!! I love it!!!! :lamo

I seem to recall lots of people wanting Planned Parenthood defunded, but now b/c Mr. King Frat Boy says it shouldn't be, well that's just fine...Let's just kick it down the road...I seem to remember Health Care being another thing that didn't work out so well for you using that method.

So, err...my brother. A Trump appointed judge voted the way you would want a Democratic appointed judge to vote. I'm not gonna tell you what to do, but if it were me, I'd maybe say right on, so as to perhaps encourage more decisions to go in the direction I'd like to see them go. By all means, I'd talk **** if they didn't go the way I wanted, but when things are going my way I tend to quietly let them... Just saying, my man... ;)

Yes in other posts I stated that I'm quite pleased with his decision. I have been quite pleased with a number of Trump's picks. I can still call them all douchebags. One vote doesn't change the past.

lol....I'm starting to think that douchebaggery is a prerequisite to work in Washington for the most part. Here's to Planned Parenthood getting a break. :)

I guess that means that all your hysterics over his nomination were overblown then. Perhaps there is a lesson in there for you.

I think Kavanaugh said RvW was settled law. The hysterical left said he was a lying. Will they apologize?

Nothing to do with abortion. It was a free market decision.
It seems like it was more about merits. PP lawyers argued that it should not be heard because the evidence was faulty. Kavanaug I guess agreed with that argument.

I find it a little troubling that it's a split vote. I would think they should all be able to at least agree if a case has or hasnt the merits to be heard. Seems le s rather basic thing to be divided on.

It could be the court is politically posturing itself too which would also trouble me.

I think a couple conservatives were more concerned with the free market than PP.

I just dont like how this split. I think it should of been more lopsided one way or the other. The case is contraversial but whether or not to hear it should not be.

I'm not sure how that part works. Perhaps it's common.

Got any proof to that claim?

are you SERIOUS-we heard -both in the media and on this board, that Kavanaugh was lying when he claimed RvW was settled. Do you want to go on record and say that isn't true

I don't see where you posted the link that I asked for here.

I want you to go on record claiming that no one said Kavanaugh was untruthful when he claimed believed RvW was settled law. Once you do that-it will be worth my time to spend the effort going back to old posts so I can prove you lied. Now if you are not willing to give me a reason to go look it up, then this issue between us is finished.

Oh my bad. I didn't know you had to go do work to find it. You seemed so sure of yourself that this had happened. BTW I'm not talking about dp. I'm talking about democrats who matter. Can you back up your claim that someone definitely said that about Kavanaugh and not as a question to be researched or a lie through the lense of the MAGA media complex?? I'm not aware of such person who held that position.

I was more worried he was a stooge put on the court to help get Trump off for high crimes.

Also I respect the office to much to want someone with even accusations against them in it. A few key positions in our government really do call for the best of the best. To be above reproach on a personal level.

This guy is not that.

This was one of the things I was confused about with his appointment. He stated multiple times RvW was settled law and yet Democrats were fear mongering constantly about how he wanted take away women's rights by overturning it.

and the Evangelicals who support Trump despite his lifestyle do so in large part because they think he will appoint judges who will overturn Roe V. Wade.
