It never ceases to amaze me at how so many people hope for the worst and relish the downfall of others.
I completely agree that anyone that has broken the law must pay the price - without exception. However, I do not celebrate when a person of high rank opposite me politically is caught and prosecuted, rather, I am satisfied that the law worked and that they were caught and prosecuted, but I also feel badly for the other side, and our country as a whole, that we had such a person in our midst. I will feel the same way when Mueller's report is published.
Manifort is a bit different to me, because I feel that what he did was about as close to espionage and treason as a person could get, and I have absolutely no concern for him suffering for his actions, whatsoever. Yet, I don't and won't transfer that disdain to anyone else on the right, just because Manifort worked for the Trump campaign.
It's sad that there are so many that take perverse pleasure in our country being harmed, just to take down their political foes. Similar to how some eagerly and happily trumpet climate change and how the Earth "may die" as some sick Machiavellian weapon against anyone that doesn't completely submit to their ideology - not the scientific facts surrounding climate change, but their ideology as a whole, including complete government control and unhinged business eradication.
The psychological terms for such people: Sadistic, and; Schadenfreude, and even for some; Katagelasticism.
I would hope that everyone that thinks that what is happening to this country with Mueller and Trump, is good or is praiseworthy, would think again, and do a little inward reflection.
There's a difference in wanting justice served and law breakers punished versus taking perverse pleasure in it occurring.
Before anyone says otherwise, these type people can be either left or right leaning, or even just anti-everyone.
