SCOTUS isn't there to rule on what is and isn't Just. They're their to rule on the Constitutionality of something. Remember, they once ruled slavery and Jim Crow as Constitutional once also.
Nope. And never said otherwise. It doesn't matter to me WHY politicians want felons to vote. What matters to me is whether the issue that they are advocating/opposing is valid or not. And in this particular case, felons being able to vote, IS valid. Like I said, they ARE Citizens of this country and as such should have a Right to vote. I have no problem with those that commit crimes being punished. But that does not mean that they should have their Rights stripped away. Many felons are felons because they screwed up as a young person. Not because they're actually bad people.
As for breaking American Traditions and societal norms....any that are not Just SHOULD be broken. Just because something is traditional and a "norm" does not automatically mean that it is good and right. Look above for obvious examples of what was not Just, yet tradition and them being "the norm" was..well..normal in those days and times.
You saw the Twitter post I linked of an MSNBC host celebrating 1.4 million new voters in Florida who can help the DNC win future presidential elections. They're doing everything within their power to nullify the votes of Republicans in this country. If you want to encourage their avarice, that's your decision. Just don't be surprised when FL goes blue, and we're left without a vote.
